OpportunityWe are a boutique Venture Capital (VC) firm with fund commitments totalling c.$400m. This is an exciting opportunity to join our finance team, reporting directly to the CFO. You will play a key role in managing the Fund Manager accounts and supporting the wider finance function across our UK, South Africa, and USA offices.Role DimensionThe role requires strong knowledge of double-entry accounting and experience with VAT returns (partial exemption). While your primary focus will be on the fund manager accounts, you will also gain exposure to fund accounting and compliance processes, making this a dynamic and varied position.Key ResponsibilitiesInput monthly management accounts for the Fund Manager in a timely mannerMaintain accounting records in Xero for South Africa and USA entitiesPrepare VAT return submissions using the partial exemption methodUpdate fund schedules including share certificates and management feesSupport the annual fund manager audit, liaising with auditors to ensure smooth deliveryPrepare FCA returns for submissionCompile expenses analysis and drawdown summaries for LPAC meetingsProvide quarterly information for the depositaryDistribute tax returns to LPsAssist with compliance processes, including submissions to third-party advisorsFile statutory returns with Companies HouseUndertake other general accounting and administrative tasks as requiredExperience & QualitiesIdeal AAT qualified or part-qualifiedMinimum three years’ accounting experience, ideally within a fund or investment environmentProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint)Experience with Xero accounting software (preferred)Strong time management, organisational, and communication skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to work independently and meet deadlinesWhy Join Us?Be part of a boutique VC firm with significant fund commitments and global reachGain exposure to fund accounting and compliance in a dynamic investment environmentWork closely with senior leadership, including the CFOOpportunity to develop your expertise in venture capital finance
