Dorset Studio School has a vacancy for a Finance Manager to join the team. You will be an integral part of the team responsible for ensuring high standards of financial integrity within Dorset Studio School. You will manage the monthly and year-end financial processes required of the school, ensuring compliance with the requirements of the Academies Financial Handbook. Manage the financial planning along with the Assistant Principal (Finance & Business), Principal and Senior Leaders to ensure effective strategic decision making.Working with best practice and implement any new standardised processes and procedures.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure timely production and issue of financial reports, cash flow forecasts and returns as Prepare the monthly management accountsPrepare the monthly financial reports, analysis and updates for the Local Governing BodyPrepare the annual budget and reforecasts for approval by the LGBTake responsibility for the academy’s accounting procedures, ensuring all policies and procedures are adhered to within the academyMaintain finance filing systems, ensuring that records are suitable for audit purposesTake responsibility for and line management of the school’s finance staff, including arranging appropriate training and development, conducting induction, probation and performance management reviewsWork with the Assistant Principal (Finance & Business), Principal and senior leaders to ensure effective financial management, adherence to budget and strategic decision makingIdentify and pursue income generating activities (Bids and grants)Work with the SENCO to secure high needs fundingDrive forward change and initiatives which promote regularity, propriety, value for money and best standardsPlease contact the school on 01305 443600 for an informal discussion or visit.Further InformationDorset Studio School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the school. We are a relatively young school, uniquely placed to offer a ‘twenty first century’ education to those young people wishing to pursue employment in the Land Based, or indeed other sectors. Our students may typically aspire to careers related to Equine, Veterinary Science, Environmental Science, Agriculture or Travel for example; though in practice may progress on to a host of other Level 3 pathways or careers. RAll students at our school follow a demanding academic curriculum with the majority working towards nine GCSE qualifications. This is complemented with an incrementally phased work experience commitment allowing the students to develop both the soft and technical employability skills that they will need to be able to flourish in a competitive market.
