Financial Controller - 1 year fixed term contract

On behalf of our multinational client, who has a long-lasting history and a crisis-resistant business, we are looking for a Financial Controller to cover multiple territories.This is a 1 year fixed term contract.Purpose of the position:Provide comprehensive financial controlling, planning, forecasting, and reporting for the assigned regional cluster in line with corporate standards and local regulations. The role ensures transparency of financial results, supports business decisions through analysis and insights, and collaborates closely with the regional finance leadership team on all closing and planning activities.Key Responsibilities:Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reportsDevelop cost budgets and forecasts in alignment with corporate financial planning cyclesMaintain and monitor cost accounting structures, including cost centers and allocation mechanismsControl and analyze costs, revenues, and balance sheet items, identifying deviations and proposing corrective actionsEnsure accurate recognition of provisions, accruals, and other financial adjustments in compliance with internal policies and statutory requirementsSupport investment planning and financial evaluations of capital expendituresMonitor and forecast cash flow performance within the clusterCoordinate internal and external audits, including statutory reporting and tax-related auditsAdvise local functional leaders (HR, Operations, Site Management) on budget performance and cost optimization opportunitiesDrive continuous improvement within financial processes and contribute to global finance initiativesCollaborate with regional and corporate controlling teams to ensure alignment and knowledge sharingQualifications & Competencies:University degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or EconomicsMinimum 3 years of relevant experience in financial controlling or related fieldsExperience in an international or matrix organization preferredStrong understanding of controlling, reporting, and budgeting principlesAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in MS Office; experience with BI tools is an advantageWorking knowledge of SAP or comparable ERP systemsExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to accuracy and detailEffective communicator with the ability to present complex data clearly and influence stakeholdersSelf-motivated, reliable, and adaptable to changeFluent in English (B2 level or higher); additional European languages are an assetSystems & Tools Used:SAP or equivalent ERPBusiness Intelligence and reporting toolsDocument management and workflow systemsWhy join our Client?Crisis-resistant business, long term perspectiveHybrid workCafeteriaPrivate pension contribution / pension fundHolidays: additional days on top of legal entitlementMedical: Life insurance contribution;
