Financial Controller - Philippines

Job Description

With a strong presence across Asia Pacific, the multi-national company seeks an experienced Financial Controller to help lead its local finance operations.This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and strategic finance professional to build robust financial systems, ensure regulatory compliance and contribute directly to the company’s success in a growing market.This position is based in Taguig City, with occasional travel within the region.FinanceMaintain accounting records in Microsoft NAVISION, following The Group's accounting policies.Prepare and issue financial statements in compliance with Philippine Financial Reporting Standards (PFRS) and local statutory requirements.Oversee monthly closing, general ledger maintenance and management reporting.Monitor and report cash position weekly and prepare cash forecasts bi-monthly.Ensure adequate funding for operations, including banking facilities and intercompany funding.Manage and maintain relationships with banks, auditors and regulatory bodies.Safeguard company assets, reconcile cash and bank accounts, and oversee payment processing to suppliers, employees and business partners.Ensure accurate and timely filing of tax returns (VAT, withholding, income tax, etc.) in compliance with BIR regulations.Coordinate annual tax and external audits and manage compliance with SEC and PEZA (if applicable) requirements.Support budget preparation, quarterly forecasts and performance analysis.Review expenses to ensure adherence to company policies and approval processes.Business Setup and OperationsImplement local accounting and operational policies aligned with Philippine laws and The Group's guidelines.Assist in the setup of the internal control systems.Manage relationships with government agencies (BIR, SEC, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, DTI, etc.) and ensure regulatory compliance.Oversee the Business Associates registration with BIR and tax compliance.Work with Group IT to establish and maintain accounting and reporting systems.Review and monitor contracts, insurance policies, and corporate documents with Group Legal and external counsel.Support supply chain and inventory processes in coordination with the operations team.Candidate ProfileCompetency RequirementsStrong understanding of Philippine accounting standards, taxation and financial reporting.Proven experience in setting up and managing finance operations in the Philippines.Familiar with corporate law, labour law and compliance requirements.Excellent analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities.Highly organized, detail-oriented and self-driven.Qualifications RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (Master’s preferred).Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.At least 7 to 10 years of relevant experience in a management capacity, ideally with an international or multinational company.Experience in direct selling or FMCG is an advantage.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience using ERP systems (NAVISION preferred).
