Role SummaryThe Financial Controller ANZ is a senior finance leadership role responsible for end‑to‑end financial management across multiple Australian and New Zealand entities and manufacturing sites. The position ensures accurate statutory and management reporting, robust controls, tax compliance, and cash flow oversight, while driving process improvements and supporting strategic initiatives including transformation and potential M&A integrations. This role combines strategic thinking with hands‑on execution and requires strong stakeholder engagement across finance and non‑finance teams.Key ResponsibilitiesLead financial reporting and period‑end close for ANZ entities in compliance with GAAPs.Oversee statutory and tax compliance and liaise with auditors and tax authorities.Oversee all core accounting operations including OTC, PTP and RTR.Maintain and strengthen internal controls, risk management, and governance frameworks.Provide financial insights and partner with leadership to support budgeting, forecasting, and decision‑making.Drive process reengineering, shared services initiatives, and transformation projects to improve efficiency.Support operations finance activities including costing, inventory control, and variance analysis.Manage cash flow forecasting, working capital optimisation, and treasury activities.Build and lead a high‑performing finance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement.Qualifications & ExperienceMinimum 10 years’ progressive finance experience, including recent leadership in complex, multi‑entity environments.CA or CPA professional qualification.Proven experience in multinational organisations, preferably in manufacturing sectors.Demonstrated success in finance transformation projects (process improvement, shared services, ERP implementation, M&A integration).Strong knowledge of IFRS/US GAAP and ANZ tax compliance requirements.Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands‑on with core finance processes.Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, JDE, D365).Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and challenge constructively.Key CompetenciesLeadership & People Development – builds capability and drives team performance.Strategic Thinking & Business Partnering – provides insights and influences decisions.Change & Transformation Leadership – champions process improvement and efficiency.Commercial Acumen – understands cost drivers and business impacts.Stakeholder Engagement – collaborates effectively across internal and external parties.Continuous Improvement Mindset – challenges status quo and implements better ways of working.
