Job Description

Aeroblaze Laboratory is a test lab with a focus in the aerospace industry. We provide flammability testing and certification for aircraft interiors and engine compartments. In this role you will begin to build a Certification department to lead. We are looking for someone who wants a long-term position in our 9 year-old company to help us grow the certification side of our business.Job DescriptionWrite certification test plans and reportsAnalyze engineering drawings and data to determine flammability requirementsCommunicate with customers to explain flammability requirementsConduct and/or witness routine flammability and fire testing of materialsCreate processes & proceduresBuild and manage a certification department of other D.E.Rs, Certification Engineers, and Technical WritersThe Nitty-grittyOur work involves flammability testing, which means you will occasionally spend extended periods on your feet and be exposed to heat and fumes (with proper safety equipment, including a respirator)We're a small company (currently 7 people) so we all help where needed. You'll occasionally be doing things that don't fall under your job descriptionYou will be traveling for work once or twice a yearRequirementsCandidates must meet at least oneof the following experience requirements:Previous work as Designated Engineering Representative (DER) or Unit Member (UM); orEngineering Degree + 4 years of heavy experience in Flammability Certification8 years of heavy experience in Flammability CertificationIn addition:You must be a U.S. CitizenYou must either live in or be prepared to relocate to the Fort Worth, Texas areaMust have expert knowledge of FAA Flammability Regulations (FAR 25.853, 25.855, 25.856)Demonstrated mechanical aptitudeDemonstrated technical writing and communications skillsProficiency in Microsoft Word and ExcelTyping Speed 40+ WPM (will be tested)Analytical and numerical skills ability to perform mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide) in different units of measurement; ability to use concepts such as fractions, percentages, and ratiosGood organization skills and ability to multi-taskAbility to perform physically demanding work such as moving and lifting equipment, assisting with testing or test witnessing in hot environments, etcPrior experience with CAD Software preferredInterview ProcessOur interview process is designed to assess both your technical expertise and your fit within our team. If selected for an interview, the first screening interview will be via zoom.
