Job Description

The Flex Medical Assistant works as part of a collaborative team with an assigned provider and other members of the clinical team to manage the care of their assigned patient panel. This dynamic role provides comprehensive, compassionate care, both telephonic and in person.This is an onsite position located at the AvitaCare Atlanta Clinic (2140 Peachtree Rd).This role offers a consistent work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, with no weekends or holidays required!About The RoleCollaborate with the provider to care for the assigned patient panelTriage patient needs by administering diagnostic testing and measuring/recording vital signsProvides telephonic patient triage servicesPerforms medication administration and reconciliationAdministers injectable medications and vaccinesCollects and labels laboratory samplesCompletes x-ray orders as requested by the providerProvides support to all clinical teams as directed by the Lead Medical AssistantManages patient flow and coordination of care by updating patient medical recordsCommunicate and facilitates preventive health care needsFacilitates patient engagement and outreach initiativesMaintains the readiness of examination and x-ray rooms by ensuring medications, supplies, and equipment are consistently restocked as neededAssist with answering incoming phone calls and scheduling appointmentsEmbrace and perform in the spirit of the company's core values and goalsAdditional responsibilities assigned as neededAbout YouHigh school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher preferred, especially in a related health fieldOne or more years as a Medical Assistant or related experienceCertified Medical Assistant preferredMust have a current BLS CertificationSkilled in Infectious Disease or HIV patient careExperienced in delivering patient care to individuals among the HIV/AIDS, BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities preferredStrong background in radiology procedures, particularly the performance of routine X-rays, is preferredProficient with EMR, eClinicalWorks preferredExcellent interpersonal and communication skills to promote optimal patient careProficient in English, with strong verbal and written communication skillsBilingual fluency in Spanish is highly preferredStrong MS Office computer skills with the ability to type 30+ wpmMust have a positive attitude, be energetic and flexible, have excellent phone etiquette, and provide exceptional customer serviceAt Avita Care Solutions, compassionate care is at the heart of everything we do.
