Job SummaryThe primary function of the Food & Beverage Coordinator is to provide administrative services while having substantial Food and Beverage knowledge to upsell and describe menu items, in accordance with the company’s standards, AAA 5 diamond standards and the LQA Benchmarking standards. Should have the ability to multitask and work under pressure.SCOPEUnder the direction of the Food & Beverage Manager/Executive Chef, & Restaurant Managers, the Food & Beverage Coordinator will provide polite and efficient service in an effort to maintain our exceptional standard of service and quality.ResponsibilitiesOperationalChecking reservations and/or emails for dinner reservations.Correctly take guest reservations ensuring to receive guests’ name, room number, number of guests dining, dining time, allergies, special occasions, etc. and confirm the details of the reservation.Prepare and print menusLoad menus into D-INE Maestro Inquire with the kitchen what the daily specials or menu changesDistribute reservation details to the relevant persons, informing them of all information necessary. Example, guests’ allergies, birthdays, anniversaries, Update Food & Beverage and Kitchen payroll daily.Update attendance recordsStructure all letters of conversations for teams as directed by department heads.Always promotes him/herself in keeping with the standards of appearance and conduct.Takes a personal interest in ensuring the AAA 5 diamond standards and LQA Benchmarking standards are always sought after, maintained, and exceeded.Liaise with the Food and Beverage management team and the Human Resources - Training and Culture Development team to support the department’s development objectives. Be knowledgeable of the hotel facts, facilities, and amenities e.g., the gym, kids club, teen lounge, and business centre. Encompassing the product available within the Montrose and Ocean Hotels Group.To comply with all hotel procedures and protocols.Distributes internal memos and correspondence to the appropriate department and head of the departments.Follow up on guest functions and special requests.Attends daily briefings, departmental or other meetings as required.Assist with decorating the property during the festive season.Adheres to company policies, standard and procedures, including health and safety, fire prevention, Hygiene, Workplace Safety, HACCP documents and Hygiene and Discipline.Attend training Courses as agreed with the Human Resources Department or your Manager / Supervisor.In addition to the duties which this job normally entails, you will be required to be completely flexible in this position and must be prepared to undertake such other work as may be assigned to you by the company from time to time. Such work can be done outside the scope of your normal duties.Training and DevelopmentTo attend and participate in any training programs as directed by the Human Resources team, Restaurant Manager and/or Food & Beverage Manager/Director.To actively participate in an evaluation of your performance by means of an appraisal with your leadership team.
