Contract Period1 January 2026 to 31 December 2026 Working HoursPersonnel Shall Be Deployed During The Following HoursMondays to Fridays: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (inclusive of 1-hour lunch break)Daily start time may vary depending on the semester timetable; however, total daily working hours remain fixed.Service not required for a total of 8 weeks each year, comprising:2 weeks during June school holidays6 weeks during November–December school holidaysService not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays 2. Scope of ServicesDutiesThe Food Laboratory Assistant shall support the operations of the school’s Food and Consumer Education (FCE) and Nutrition & Food Science (NFS) programmes. The duties include, but are not limited to: B. Weekly Food Lab Duties C. Ad-hoc Duties D. Administrative Duties 3. Qualifications and Skills Daily Food Lab DutiesEnsure general cleanliness and upkeep of the kitchens, including food lab equipment, work benches, students’ tables, floors, and sinks.Assist in preparing the Food Laboratory for FCE and NFS lessons and practical examinations.Support preparation of food ingredients (e.g., portioning, distributing, and organising food items).Conduct regular checks and manage utensils and cookware at individual workstations to ensure all items are accounted for.Manage ingredients stored in the fridge, maintain organisation and cleanliness, and discard expired items promptly.Conduct routine stock-taking of ingredients and update the Food Lab Teacher-in-Charge when necessary.Maintain cleanliness of ovens, stoves, and frequently used equipment.Arrange equipment, utensils, tables, and chairs in an orderly manner.Assist in culinary workshops conducted under the school's enrichment programmes (e.g., ingredient preparation, setup, and cleaning up).Support school-based activities that require the use of the food laboratories.Supervise students in the food lab in the absence of the teacher (e.g., during emergency toilet breaks).Verify that goods delivered match the purchase order.Ensure proper and safe storage of goods upon delivery.Perform other duties as assigned by the Teacher(s)-in-Charge.The Personnel Shall Minimally Possess The FollowingPreferably a PSLE certificate.Candidates without PSLE but with relevant experience or expertise may also apply.Good interpersonal and communication skills.Proficient in English for verbal and written communication, with basic reading and writing skills.Preferably with experience in school food laboratory operations and basic knowledge of food safety and preparation.
