Our Karlshamn site is a multifunctional production facility where all AAK’s business areas are represented. Swedish-grown rapeseed is an important raw material, while a wide variety of vegetable oils and fats are shipped directly to Karlshamn from Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. The Nordic region is a key home market, while specialty products are exported worldwide from Karlshamn.About The RoleWe are looking for a dedicated and curious Food Technologist to join our team in Karlshamn. In this role you will design, develop, and optimize production processes and equipment. You will be at the heart of continuous improvement, ensuring efficient operations, high quality, loss reduction and maximum results. You will work both independently and in project teams, contributing technical expertise while also engaging with internal and external stakeholders.This is a permanent position, based in Karlshamn, reporting to the Production Manager Oils & Fats.Responsibilities Work continuously to improve operations within Oils & Fats, with a strong focus optimizing production processes. Take immediate and corrective actions when results deviate from product specifications. Approve and take responsibility for recipe adjustments, including disposal of residues. Propose actions on raw materials, components, and products with insufficient turnover in tanks or warehouses. Investigate and follow up on customer complaints related to out-of-specification deliveries. Investigate process disturbances in production that cause deviations in quality. Apply statistical process control methods. Propose and implement opportunities to optimize Bills of Materials (BOMs) in terms of output and/or capacity. Initiate, lead, and propose improvements in processes, including troubleshooting in cases of deviations regarding quality or capacity. Provide technical expertise and act as a resource when needed. Perform, participate in, and lead trials, and full-scale production runs. Lead assigned projects within the business — primarily technical or investment-focused, but customer-related projects may also occur. Ensure all activities are in line with AAK’s vision and the requirements of our business management system.About You Bachelor or master degree in chemical engineering, biotechnology, process engineering, food technology, or similar discipline. Several years of experience in a similar position with the food industry. Preferably experienced with oils, fats or refining processes. Experienced with process flow calculations, optimization, and equipment dimensioning. A structured and solution-oriented approach to work. Curiosity, willingness to learn, and ability to collaborate The ability to see the big picture while paying attention to details. Engagement, responsibility, and a desire to contribute to shared team goals.
