Foundation Director

Position: Foundation DirectorReports to: Telluride Medical Center CEOThe Foundation Director staffs and oversees, together with the Hospital CEO, the Foundation Board Chair and the Foundation Board of Directors, the Telluride Medical Center Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to ensure patients have access to essential health care services by investing in key medical center priorities while also positioning TMC to better support future community health needs. The Director is responsible for the management of all aspects of a comprehensive development program.Principal ResponsibilitiesDevelop and manage a comprehensive strategic fundraising plan including major gifts, planned giving, grants, annual giving, and events, in accordance with TMCF’s strategic planning prioritiesCreate and manage development budget, establish goals, strategies and measurement toolsOversee daily operations of the Foundation office including management of staff, capital, program, endowment, annual giving campaigns and special eventsIdentify, cultivate, solicit and steward gifts from individuals, corporations and foundationsOversee grant writing and grant management. Manage the E-Tapestry databaseAssist the TMC CEO in strategic and operational planning as a member of the senior management teamMaintain strong professional relationship with TMC CEO based on clear communication, collaboration and cooperationOversee all aspects of the management of the Foundation Board including recruitment, education and training, implementation of campaigns and board development initiativesWork closely with support groups (Telluride Women Give, Telluride Table, Golf Tournament, etc.) to facilitate fundraising opportunitiesEstablish and maintain methods and procedures for all development activities including, but not limited to: acknowledgements, stewardship, and donor recognitionOversee preparation and maintenance of department reports; prepare periodic Foundation financial reports and provide updates to the TMC CEO, CFO, Foundation, Hospital Boards and senior management Maintains professional growth through participation in seminars, workshops, professional affiliations and professional development opportunitiesParticipates in local professional and civic organizations as representative of TMCFSupports major capital campaign for a new medical facilityMaintains organized and timely tracking and reporting of fundraising activities in various systems and formatsWorks collaboratively with the leadership team of the medical center to provide funding for equipment, community activities and employee eventsEducation RequirementsBachelor’s degree in one of: Nonprofit Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Communications, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Finance, or a related field.Work ExperienceAt least 3 years of progressively responsible experience in nonprofit / foundation / fundraising / development roles. This should include direct experience with donor relations, grant writing / grant management, event fundraising, and some oversight of budgets or financial reporting.About The CompanyFounded in 1978, TRMC is a rural healthcare facility offering Primary Care that is an NCQA certified Patient Center Medical Home with integrative behavioral health and chronic care management. Primary Care has 3 physicians and 4 advanced practitioners serving 5,000 empaneled patients. The PC also acts as an urgent care for locals and visitors.
