You explore ideas with AI, synthesize source material, and publish technical work that intelligent systems can interpret, cite, and build upon. The result is knowledge that endures — structured, verifiable, and ready for both humans and machines to learn from.We're a small, tight-knit in-person team based in San Francisco.About The RoleBuild authoritative indexes of the web and surfacing high quality knowledge are the pre-eminent problems as the web evolves from human-readable pages to machine-readable intelligence. We’re building Waldium to be a foundational part of solving them.Desired ExperienceBuilt performant systems from ground up in 0 - 1 situations and owning the full software development lifecycle.Have extensive prompt engineering experience, or would be excited to ramp up very quicklyComfortable integrating production ready AI systems across the stack (i.e. running model inference, evals and benchmarks, agentic workflows).Care deeply about fixing the status of publishing technical content today - broken, stale, manual.Bonus points if you’re an ex-founder or founding engineerResponsibilitiesYou will work with us to:Make our crawler 10x fasterBuild web-scale search indexes to surface results that are novel for both humans and AIEnsure that our web-hosting service (currently powered by Vercel) never goes downImprove our codebase indexer to accurately, and correctly, surface topics from GithubStill apply even if you think you don't fit all the criteria—exceptionally good engineers often don't follow conventional paths.
