Company DescriptionSPIKES is building a flagship Manhattan project and is assembling a small group of strategic capital partners. The company is creating a premium, membership based platform in the real estate, wellness and performance space, with a focus on long term asset value and brand equity.We are looking for a founding investor who thinks like an owner, understands how location and build quality shape a category, and enjoys working directly with a founder on capital structure, site strategy and growth.Role DescriptionThis is a full time on site role, based in Manhattan, NY, for the position of Founding Investor at SPIKES.The Founding Investor will:Lead strategic real estate investment alignment for the Manhattan flagship, including site selection input, lease and landlord discussions, and long range portfolio thinking for future locationsDesign and refine the capital stack for the flagship and follow on projects, including equity, debt and potential joint venture structures with real estate, hospitality and wellness partnersHelp position SPIKES at the level of a best in class wellness and luxury gym concept, ensuring that the financial model supports a high quality member experienceBuild, review and pressure test financial models for development, pre opening, operations and multi location expansionIdentify and evaluate aligned capital and partnership opportunities, including family offices, developers, club operators and strategic brandsShape the investor story and support ongoing communication, governance and reporting routinesParticipate in high level decision making on timing, scaling, brand collaborations and major capital allocation choicesThe Founding Investor will be a core partner in turning the Manhattan project into a reference asset and in setting the playbook for future sites.QualificationsStrong financial analysis, investment management and strategic planning abilitiesExperience structuring and executing investments in at least one of the following areas: urban real estate, hospitality, private clubs, luxury gyms or wellness platformsTrack record of developing theses, identifying market opportunities and executing successful investments from entry through exit or long term holdProven capability in stakeholder management, leadership and clear communication with founders, investors and operating teamsFamiliarity with Manhattan or other global gateway city real estate markets, including comfort with lease terms, buildout economics and landlord dynamicsComfort working in a dynamic, founder led environment with an entrepreneurial, ownership mindsetGenuine interest in performance, sport, wellness or related member based concepts and ability to translate that into commercial and real estate decisionsAdvanced degree in Finance, Business Administration, Real Estate or a related field is preferredPrevious experience in startups, venture capital, private equity, family offices or finance roles focused on real assets, hospitality or consumer platforms is highly advantageous
