We are the leaders in structured, long-form learning with over 30,000 members for guitar, bass, and (soon) piano.About the roleWe’re looking for a skilled copyeditor with a music background (preferably piano) to help elevate and refine the written copy for our lessons. You’ll work closely with our writing team to improve lesson content, provide editorial direction, verify the accuracy of music theory explanations, and enhance the overall learning experience for our members.You’ll play a key role in ensuring every Pickup Music lesson is clear, concise, and engaging (whether it’s for guitar, bass, or piano).If you’re also a strong writer who can jump in to write lessons yourself when needed, even better. The best editors are great writers first.A note on the use of AI: At Pickup, we encourage the use of modern tools to enhance your work and speed up your process. That said, you’re ultimately responsible for creating natural, human copy that feels authentic and never reads like it was generated by a machine.You’re the right person for the job if:You’re a skilled musician with a solid understanding of music theory (at least intermediate level).You’re an excellent editor who can coach writers to elevate their work (and write great lessons yourself when needed).You can confidently cover piano, bass, and guitar lessons (piano expertise is a big plus).You have an eye for lean, purposeful copy that supports learning. This isn’t textbook-style writing.
