We believe each student can amaze themselves with their learning and development through high quality teaching.Key ResponsibilitiesTeach French to students at GCSE and A Level, following the relevant Pearson Edexcel curriculum.Develop and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that foster students’ linguistic competence and appreciation of French language and culture.Prepare students thoroughly for internal assessments and public examinations, ensuring high academic standards and measurable progress.Contribute to the planning, development, and review of the French curriculum within the Modern Languages Department.Provide regular feedback, reports, and assessments to students and parents, supporting each learner’s academic and personal growth.Participate in departmental and whole-school meetings, professional development, and collaborative projects.Promote a positive learning environment that reflects the values and ethos of the British School of Geneva.Support school events, trips, and extracurricular activities related to French language and culture.Qualifications And ExperienceBachelor’s degree or higher in French, Modern Languages, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).Proven experience teaching French at GCSE and A Level (or equivalent secondary level).Strong knowledge of British curriculum assessment objectives and examination requirements.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students.Commitment to inclusive education and differentiation to meet the needs of diverse learners.High level of fluency in French (native or near-native proficiency) and strong command of English.Experience in an international or multicultural school environment is an advantage.Assess and monitor student learning and progress.
