This opportunity offers full end-to-end ownership of high-quality, production-ready frontend code within a collaborative and agile environment, driving innovation and efficiency across major routes to market.What You’ll Get To DoCreating high quality production-ready front-end code with ShopifyCreating reusable Shopify components and theme areasDrive forward the quality – in code, unit testing, accessibility, performance, code reviewsEnsure a smooth connection with Marketing Tools, Platform APIs, and Shopify Apps to optimise the shop for overall efficiency and functionalityDeliver on an Agile workstream of front-end developers on a project, contributing to daily stand-ups, sprint planning and estimatesAbility to converse confidently with technical and non-technical colleaguesBuild modular layouts, reusable code and libraries for future useTo be comfortable representing front-end in a client-facing capacityWork with the design teams to create optimal front-end user experiences, leading to driving greater conversionsCollaborating with technical and non-technical colleagues to escalate issues and highlight any areas that need wider team actionCooperate with design and marketing teams to gather and refine specifications and requirements for developmentBe involved in existing and new integrations for the platformFull end-to-end ownership from idea to delivery, covering ongoing maintenance, expansion and scalingStay current with evolving standards and technologies, learning new skills as neededSupport of the recruitment process in technical tests and team fit assessmentsWhat You Should HaveMastery of semantic HTML5, CSS3 (SASS or LESS) and JavaScript (ES6+) adhering to industry defined coding standardsSolid understanding of the Agile methodology i.e. Story point estimation, refinement, sprint planning, retrospective, sprint demosExtensive experience with the Shopify platform and the Liquid templating engineA desire to write readable, maintainable, modular, and extendable codeBe an expert in all aspects of the Shopify ECommerce platformHave extensive testing and debugging abilities using the browser console and other toolsKnowledge of current trends and best practices in front-end architecture, including performance optimization, accessibility, SEO, security and usabilityCommercial experience of using GIT in a large development team performing Continuous IntegrationExcellent communication skills and capability to interact directly with the team and stakeholdersProficient understanding of fluid responsive layouts, cross-browser and cross-device compatibility issuesCommercial experience of unit testing/End to end testing/regression testing (we use Jest and Cypress)Have previous experience implementing/debugging third-party Shopify apps, as well as building unique solutions if neededFamiliarity with modern front-end build pipelines and tools such as Grunt and webpackHave working knowledge of third-party services and APIs, as well as Shopify pluginsWillingness to contribute to both large, complex projects and smaller tasks as directed.Great attitude, self-motivated, strong work ethic, with strong ownershipHave experience of solving bespoke customer issues within the Shopify platformBonus Points If You HaveCommercial experience in building headless solutions e.g SPA and/or PWA applicationsExperience in building rapid prototypesExperience with a Type Checking language either Flow or TypeScript (we use TypeScript)Experience of working on Java/Node/C#/PHP projects would be beneficialExperience of mentoring junior members of the teamYou will collaborate with our UK project team, so we’ll need you to be available until 18:00 PLWhat We OfferWork equipment with delivery to your door Opportunity to work with some of the most exciting brands around the world Please note that this job is a full-time position located in Poland, but the selection process will be conducted in English.Please send over your CV in English.WPP (VML Enterprise Solutions) is an equal opportunity employer and considers applicants for all positions without discrimination or regard to characteristics.
