Full time Hotel Maintenance Operative - Cork City

Job Description

Reports to: The General ManagerPrimary ResponsibilitiesTo reflect and enhance the hotels mission statement and objectives in all activitiesTo attend and take the necessary action required from items arising at daily/operation meetingsTo rectify any maintenance issues within the hotel on a daily basisTo liaise with outside contractors to ensure all maintenance issues are rectifiedTo ensure an efficient planned prevention maintenance system is in place for all key equipmentTo monitor and control costs in all areas, energy-saving etc.Ensure all items from Opera maintenance list are actioned as soon as possibleCarry out regular hotel inspections to identify maintenance requirement.To ensure all maintenance contracts are up to date and to ensure servicing of equipment takes place as per the agreed contractTo ensure guests safety by eliminating potential risks and hazardsTo ensure the fire detection system is checked and recorded weeklyTo ensure the fire doors, emergency lighting and bell tests are carried out weekly and recordedTo ensure all fire safety systems are checked and recorded as per the requirements set out on the Tifco Fire safety matrixTo check and replace used fire extinguishers immediatelyTo ensure all health, safety and fire regulations are adhered toPlan and implement departmental trainingAssist in the recruitment, selection, training and appraising of maintenance team membersAttend daily, weekly operation meetings and any other meetings as requiredTo ensure successful preopening and opening of hotelTo attend all Development meetings chaired by the Property Management Company overseeing the development common areasThe CandidateAt least 1 years experience at Maintenance Assistant level required.Trade qualification/experience (eg electrical/plumbing)strongly advantageousHigh attention to detail and standard focusedAbility to prioritize and work on several projects simultaneouslyExcellent people skillsStrong communication and listening skills.Benefits to the successful candidate- Competitive Salary Generous subsidised room nights and employee rate discounts across Irelands TIFCO hotels* 50% of food & beverage when availing of TIFCO employee complimentary & rate benefit programmes* 25& off food and beverage in TIFCO owned properties.*Terms & conditions apply.
