Functional Team Lead – VAT Compliance Operations

A Snapshot of Your DayAs the Team Lead in our VAT Compliance team, you will be an important anchor to plan, coordinate and perform tasks across the VAT Compliance Operations, support your team members and colleagues with advice on complex VAT topics, and ensure the results meet internal and external requirements. You’ll collaborate with Finance, IT and external service providers, help interpret VAT regulatory changes, and prepare documentation and training materials.How You’ll Make An ImpactLead, steer, develop and motivate a dedicated team of VAT enthusiastsSupport, coordinate and lead the daily operations of the VAT team to ensure compliance with VAT regulations across multiple jurisdictions for German legal entitiesEnsure timely and accurate execution of all VAT-related compliance tasks assigned to the teamAct as a VAT point of contact for cross-functional teams (Finance, IT, external service providers)Plan, organize and deliver internal VAT compliance trainingsMonitor regulatory changes and ensure alignment with internal processesRepresent the VAT function in cross-functional discussions and projects (e.g. ViDA, S4HANA, etc.)What You BringBachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees and certifications in Accounting and/or Tax are a plus.Several years of experience in VAT compliance or a related role, with a proven track record of managing VAT processes and reporting, ideally in a multinational environmentYour background already includes proven management expertise in team leadership.In-depth knowledge of European VAT regulations and compliance requirements, with experience in VAT reporting.Proficiency in SAP, particularly in finance and tax modules (e.g. FI, SD, MM), along with a strong understanding of data management and analysis tools.Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and the ability to handle multiple tasks independently.Strong communication and interpersonal abilities and an excellent command of EnglishStructured, proactive and team-oriented mindset with excellent coordination and communication skillsAbout The TeamOur Tax function is essential in driving the company's strategic initiatives and ensuring operational excellence across various departments, business areas, and regions.
