Data Scientist

FREELANCE | Senior Data Scientist | Norway | Python | R | MLI am currently working with a respected client who are looking to bring in a freelance Data Scientist to work with them on a 6-month contract with possibility of extension. Role Details: Job title: Senior Data Scientist. Working Model: Hybrid. Day Rate: D. O. E. Contract Length: 6 Months Initially with extension. Start Date: October start date. Position details: As a Data Scientist, you will be part of a multidisciplinary analytics team working on projects that combine machine learning, statistical modelling, and data engineering.

You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders, data engineers, and product teams to design and implement scalable solutions that create measurable business value. Key Responsibilities: Build and deploy predictive and prescriptive models using machine learning techniques. Analyse large and complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities. Work with data engineers to ensure data pipelines are reliable, scalable, and efficient. Translate business problems into well-defined analytical tasks. Communicate insights and model results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Contribute to the development of internal tools, frameworks, and best practices in data science. REQUIRED Experience and Education:

Master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or related field. 3+ years of experience applying machine learning and statistical methods in real-world settings. Proficiency in Python (preferred), R, or Scala. Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus. Strong knowledge of SQL and working with large-scale databases. Excellent communication skills in English & Norwegian are essential.
