The project aims to strengthen BSC governance in West Java and expand its economic opportunities by making the fishery more climate-adaptive, inclusive, and resilient. It addresses the declining sustainability of the fishery—marked by shorter fishing seasons, reduced catches, and degraded habitats—while tackling gender and social inequities that limit the participation and benefits of women, youth, and people with disabilities in the value chain. By combining inclusive governance, climate-resilient practices, and value-chain improvements, the project seeks to empower local fishers and processors, enhance product quality and value, and protect the ecosystems that sustain them.Implementation is organized around four interlinked work streams:1. Value Adding in BSC Fisheries – improving post-harvest practices and developing inclusive, gender-responsive business models;2. BSC Aquaculture Pilot – exploring aquaculture as a complementary, climate-adaptive livelihood pathway;3. Fisheries Management and Coastal Restoration – supporting habitat protection, mangrove rehabilitation, and governance mechanisms that reinforce sustainability; and4. Community Awareness and Empowerment – fostering youth leadership, social inclusion, and public engagement on sustainable coastal resource management.Together, these work streams aim to demonstrate how inclusive participation and climate-resilient practices can strengthen both the sustainability of the BSC fishery and the well-being of coastal communities.Key Responsibilities-        Develop and implement a GEDSI plan aligned with project objectives. -        Ensure that GEDSI principles are mainstreamed across all project activities.-        Support the design and implementation of the project’s GEDSI Assessment with the GEDSI Specialist (Short-term Consultant).-        Conduct community consultations, focus group discussions, and key informant interviews with women, youth, and other marginalized stakeholders to understand GEDSI needs in the local context.-        Support implementation of project activities involving women, youth and people with disabilities (workshops, trainings, assessments) through a GEDSI lense.-        Document lessons learned, case studies, and success stories highlighting GEDSI outcomes.-        Provide regular field updates and contribute to progress and donor reports.Requirements-        Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Gender Studies, Development Studies, or related field.-        Minimum 3 years of field experience in community engagement, gender and social inclusion, or livelihood development projects.-        Demonstrated understanding of GEDSI concepts and their application in coastal or fisheries contexts.-        Strong facilitation and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse community members.-        Experience working with local communities, fisher groups, and women’s associations is preferred.-        Proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia; good English communication skills are an advantage.-        Willingness to travel frequently within the project area (Cirebon, Indramayu, Karawang, Bekasi).-        Candidate based in Bandung preferred, as the role involves frequent coordination with local partners and travel to project sites along the north coast of West Java. How to ApplySend your CV and cover letter to santi@starlingresources.com or info@starlingresources.com with the subject “GEDSI Field Coordinator” Starling Resources” by November 20, 2025.
