General Ledger Accountant

If you're excited about solving challenging problems and contributing to a fast-paced and innovative environment, we’d love to meet you!Key ResponsibilitiesRole Overview: We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive General Accountant to join our finance team. The successful candidate will manage day-to-day accounting activities for the Romania entity. The role requires strong understanding of Romanian Tax & Accounting requirements, robust financial controls, and the ability to collaborate with cross-border teamsAccount Payables and ExpensesReview and assess vendor contracts for pricing, terms, payment conditions, and compliance with internal policies; Identify potential financial or legal risks and suggest mitigationsPrepare weekly and monthly payment plans aligned with cash flow, approvals, and contractual terms.Prioritize payments to optimize working capital while adhering to internal controlsSubmit payment requests (tickets) in the accounting/approval system; Ensure all required documentation is attached and approvers are properly routedMonitor payment workflow status and resolve bottlenecks to avoid delaysAP Reconciliation: Reconcile purchase requests (PR) and purchase orders (PO) with vendor invoices and supporting documents; Ensure accuracy of vendor balances before payment submissionMonitor AP Aging reports to ensure timely payments and identify overdue itemsCoordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve aging issues and prevent penaltiesRevenue and Costing AccountingCollaborate with legal team to prepare the sale service agreements with clientsIssue monthly sales invoicesRecognize revenue in accordance with contract terms and applicable accounting standardsManage accounts receivable: monitor collections, reconcile customer subledgers, and follow up on overdue balancesPrepare monthly revenue reports for management and auditorsDevelop and maintain a gaming-specific costing framework (cost pools, allocation bases, and overhead absorption) and calculate cost of sales at month-endCollaborate with Product, Technology, and Live teams to provide cost analytics, performance insights, and budgeting supportDaily Bookkeeping, Monthly Closings and Tax ReportsRecord daily journal entries in the Romanian statutory booksPrepare and close monthly local Romanian financial statements in compliance with Romanian GAAP or applicable standardsPrepare and close month management accounting reportPrepare and submit local VAT, Corporate Income Tax (CIT), and other applicable tax filings in accordance with Tax & Accounting regulationsEnsure timely submission and accurate reporting, maintain supporting documentation and tax calendars for Romanian EntityPrepare intercompany reconciliations where applicableOther dutiesSupport ad-hoc financial analyses, process improvements, and system enhancements related to accounting and reportingOther finance operational admin works assigned by Global Head of FinanceRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.Professional accounting qualification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) preferred.Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in accounting/finance (industry experience in gaming or tech-driven companies is a plus).Strong knowledge of Romanian GAAP/Tax rules, VAT, CITFamiliarity with international accounting for overseas entities and intercompany transactions.Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software; experience with AP/GL modules, and workflow/approval systems.Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Strong attention to detail and accuracy; ability to work under tight deadlines.Good communication skills in Romanian and English (written and spoken) to liaise with local and international teams.What we offer:Embedded in large- scale development projects with tremendous growth potential;Running local as well as global projects that have visibility throughout the Group;A fun team to work with.
