We are committed to strategic growth, operational excellence, and forging strong partnerships, ensuring that our host nations become global trade and logistics hubs.JOB PURPOSE:Noatum Ports, AD Ports Group is hiring a dynamic and strategic leader to manage its grain terminal operations in Kazakhstan. This executive role oversees the terminal’s full operational, commercial, and financial performance, with direct P&L accountability.We’re looking for a seasoned professional with deep expertise in grain handling, logistics, and international trade. The ideal candidate will drive growth, operational excellence, and strong commercial partnerships with cargo owners, traders, and transport companies.RESPONSIBILITIES:Core Responsibilities:Terminal Operations Management (30% of time)Oversee daily operations of the grain terminal, ensuring efficient and safe handling, storage, and shipment of grain cargo.Implement and monitor operational processes to maximize throughput and minimize downtime.Ensure compliance with local and international safety, environmental, and quality standards.Commercial & Stakeholder Management (25% of time)Develop and nurture relationships with cargo owners, traders, logistics providers, and transport companies to drive business growth.Negotiate commercial contracts and service agreements to optimize revenue and profitability.Identify new market opportunities and lead business development initiatives for the terminal.Financial Leadership & P&L Accountability (20% of time)Manage the terminal’s budget, financial planning, and reporting, ensuring cost control and revenue optimization.Monitor and analyze financial performance, taking corrective actions to achieve targets.Prepare regular financial reports for senior management and the Noatum Ports Regional CEO.Leadership & People Development (15% of time)Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.Set clear objectives, conduct performance reviews, and support staff training and development.Ensure effective communication and collaboration across all levels of the terminal’s workforce.Strategic Planning & Reporting (10% of time)Contribute to the development of long-term strategic plans for the grain terminal in alignment with AD Ports Group’s global objectives.Provide insights and recommendations to senior leadership on market trends, risks, and opportunities.Represent the terminal in internal and external forums, promoting its capabilities and achievements.Develop an Organizational structure to achieve Safe and efficient operations, Commercial, and return on investment objectives and expand the commercial footprint in Kazakhstan synergistically.EDUCATIONAL AND TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Port, Maritime, Logistics, or a related industry field is required and/or a related discipline.Master’s degree in business / administration management, Port Management or related discipline.Strong understanding of maritime logistics, port operations, and global supply chain dynamics.Advanced knowledge of grain trading markets.Excellent communication & public speaking skills.Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and negotiate with diverse stakeholders.Technical proficiency in Digital terminal management systems and relevant software and technologies for management of a terminal and P&L management.In-depth knowledge of corporate governance, finance and performance management principles, industry including risk management, compliance, and regulatory requirements.CERTIFICATIONS:Professional certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CILT)Health & Safety Management CertificationLANGUAGE SKILLS:Proficiency in English (written and spoken) Kazakh/Russian (both written and verbal).Knowledge of additional languages relevant to the region is highly advantageous.YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:Minimum of 15+ years of experience in ports, maritime, logistics, and supply chain management, with a strong focus on grain terminal operations and commercial relationship management.
