As part of our growth strategy, we are expanding our presence in Japan and looking for a highly capable General Manager to lead our Japan operations.What You’ll DoAs General Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of our Japan office, ensuring both commercial success and operational excellence. Key responsibilities include:Lead and manage all business operations in Japan: finance, HR, scheduling, client relations, and team / resource allocation.Act as the main commercial lead for Japan: supporting sales efforts, managing key client relationships, pitching, and ensuring delivery to agreed standards.Handle HR responsibilities: hiring, performance management, staff development, resolving staffing issues, ensuring legal compliance with local employment law.Organise and manage the operational schedule: project timelines, resource planning, coordinating between Japan HQ, clients, and international teams.Maintain and continuously improve operational standards: processes, workflows, quality control, cost control, reporting.Lead client meetings locally: understanding client requirements, ensuring communication between clients and our internal teams, managing expectations and feedback.Collaborate with global teams (e.g. product, creative, engineering) to ensure local deliverables align with company’s overall vision and standards.What You’ll BringFluency in both Japanese and English, both written and spoken.A few years of business experience (ideally 3-5+ years minimum), with exposure to operational, commercial, and HR functions.Prior experience in sports broadcasting, sports tech, or a related field, especially in operations or client / project delivery roles.Strong organisational skills: ability to manage multiple projects, schedule resources, meet deadlines and deliver quality under pressure.Proven ability to handle commercial discussions: negotiations, client relationships, contract management, budgeting.Excellent interpersonal, communication, leadership skills.
