General Practitioner

Purpose of the role:The Generalist Practitioner Physician is responsible for leading and supervising the delivery of high-quality evidence -based care; effectively and efficiently diagnosing, managing and treating all patients placed under the post holder’s care. The Generalist Practitioner Physician is expected to be an example of clinical excellence within his or her specialty and to provide leadership and training for junior medical staff. Key responsibilities of the role:Supports, implements, and follows Select Arabia Hospital’s departmental and divisional initiatives, policies and procedures Ensures comprehensive documentation in the Medical Record to accurately reflect the patient’s diagnosis and treatment to enable good clinical practice andoptimal, accurate patient billing.General accountability for the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of general health problems. Deliver best-in-class medical services for Inpatients.Provide holistic medical management following the best evidence medicine practice.Directs nurses in procedures for preoperative and postoperative care such as administering sedatives, prescribing diets, and preparing operative area of patients.Examines patients and determines x-ray examinations and clinical laboratory tests required. Examine patients, perform and interpret diagnostic tests to obtain information on medical condition and determine diagnosis.Administers and prescribes such conservative measures of treatment as antibiotics, drugs, and compresses.Explain procedures and discuss test results or prescribed treatments with patients and families. Monitor patient’s condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as necessary.Collect record and maintain patient information such as medical history reports and examination results.Refer patient to medical specialist or other practitioner when necessary.Take on-call duty outside of scheduled working hours.Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned, within the scope of the individual’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Fosters a culture of learning, development and continuous improvement across the Department by: Promoting and assisting in the instruction, guidance and supervision of junior medical staff Facilitating the provision of essential training relevant to clinical staff in the specialty Showing commitment to Continued Medical Education (CME) Promotes and participates in clinical research and publication Keeps abreast of the current, relevant literature and the latest trends and technologies in the industry.Qualifications:• Bachelor’s degree in medicine, MBBS or equivalent Doctor of Medicine (MD).Required Qualifications:• Certificate of experience: at least one years of experience as a general practitioner• Registration and classification by Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS) as a general practitioner. • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. • Active medical malpractice insurance.
