TitleGenerator MechanicLocation – Erbil, Iraq – 12 weeks on/3 weeks off Duration – 4 years + 2 – Facilities Management Operations (FMO)Candidates must be able to obtain SC Clearance. Please note this is not a tax-free assignment and you will be subject to UK tax for the duration of the assignment.The RoleKBR is operating as well as maintenance services for existing infrastructure assets across MOD’s operational estates in Erbil, Iraq.ResponsibilitiesPerform generator maintenance and servicing within contracted timeframesEvaluate and complete tasks with motivation and competenceManage generation and mechanical worksEnsure and promote high standards of mechanical hygiene to prevent contamination of prime mover units.Carry out planned and reactive repairs on contracted generators and associated fuel systemsEnsure compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act and implement safe systems of workArrange for generator repairs to be undertaken and satisfactorily completed within contracted timescalesInitiate and order materials via the Stores Request ServiceConduct ad-hoc and weekly toolbox talksDeliver pre-shift briefs and specific task instructions as requiredWhat We NeedRecognised and accredited trade qualifications at City & Guilds standards or higherExceptional fault-finding and diagnostic skills for both mechanical and electrical components on prime power and standby generatorsSupervisory experience with strong communication skillsProven ability to apply good environmental practices in tasks performed, including investigating accidents and incidents, conducting risk assessments and risk control, and complying with UK health and safety legislationDesirableExperience working in challenging remote locations or developing countriesCompleted familiarisation courses and product training on Caterpillar prime mover units, FG Wilson Generators and Perkins prime mover units and Woodward control gear, electronic engine controlsProficiency in load bank testingFamiliar with engine diagnostic tools, such as Perkins electronic service tool and CAT electronic technicianElectrical qualification demonstrating competence and knowledge of IEE regulations at the 18th EditionJoin Our Talent Community!Join the Talent Network | KBR JobsBelong.
