Geoscientist

We are seeking an experienced Basin Modeling Geoscientist for an immediate 6-month subsurface project in Nigeria. The ideal candidate will have strong capabilities in petroleum systems modeling, seismic interpretation, geological correlation, and integrated subsurface data workflows. Experience with Permedia is mandatory.Key ResponsibilitiesBasin & Petroleum Systems ModelingExecute full-cycle petroleum systems modeling using Permedia, including data loading, calibration, migration simulation, and scenario testing.Perform charge assessment, basin evolution analysis, and uncertainty evaluation.Review and integrate geochemical and calibration datasets to support modeling accuracy.Seismic InterpretationConduct 2D and 3D seismic interpretation and well-seismic tie workflows.Interpret structural and stratigraphic frameworks supporting basin modeling and play evaluation.Geological Interpretation & CorrelationPerform geological correlation and develop stratigraphic frameworks.Integrate regional studies, geochemistry, petrophysics, and geophysical datasets into consistent geological models.Carry out trend analysis including isopachs, facies, and attribute interpretation.Subsurface Data Loading & ManagementLoad, QC, and manage geological and geophysical data within DecisionSpace Geology and OpenWorks.Maintain data integrity and ensure proper workflow readiness for modeling tasks.Exploration SupportReview existing prospect portfolios and evaluate new leads and prospects.Contribute to prospect risking, volumetric assessments, and geological ranking.Provide technical recommendations and support exploration decision-making.RequirementsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, Petroleum Geoscience, or related field.Hands-on experience with Permedia petroleum systems modeling software is required.Strong background in basin modeling, geochemistry integration, and migration simulation.Proficiency in seismic interpretation (2D/3D) and well tie processes.Experience working with DecisionSpace Geology / OpenWorks for data loading and management.Demonstrated experience in geological correlation and integrated subsurface workflows.Ability to deliver high-quality technical results under tight timelines.
