Job Description

Responsibilities1. Provide legal advice and support for business activities and partnerships across Latin America.2. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, business contracts, and compliance documents in accordance with local and corporate standards.3. Monitor and analyze legal and regulatory developments in payments, data protection, AML/CFT, and consumer protection.4. Manage external counsel relationships and oversee dispute resolution when necessary.5. Conduct internal legal and compliance training to enhance business teams’ risk awareness.6. Develop and execute public affairs and government relations strategies to strengthen UnionPay's presence and influence in Latin America.7. Build and maintain relationships with regulators, central banks, government bodies, and industry associations.8. Represent UnionPay in policy discussions, industry forums, and public events to advocate for innovation and inclusion in the payments ecosystem.9. Support corporate communications, reputation management, and social responsibility initiatives across the region.Requirements1. Bachelor's degree or higher in Law, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, or a related field; legal qualification preferred.2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in legal, regulatory, or public affairs roles within the financial, payments, or technology sectors.3. Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and policy environments in local market.4. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and analytical skills.5. Proven ability to engage with government institutions and manage complex stakeholder relationships.6. Strong communication and cross-cultural collaboration skills.7. Languages: Fluency in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese or Mandarin Chinese is a strong plus.8. High level of integrity, accountability, and strategic thinking.All candidates will be fairly assessed, with due consideration given to the relevance of their background to the role's requirements.
