Freelance GL Accountant – Manufacturing Industry (Antwerp, Belgium)Location: Antwerp, Belgium Contract Type: Freelance / Interim Duration: 6–12 months (extendable) Start Date: ASAP Work Arrangement: Hybrid (on-site presence required several days per week)About the CompanyOur client is a well-established organisation within the manufacturing industry, recognised for its technical excellence, innovation, and strong local presence in Antwerp. To support their finance team during a period of transformation and increased reporting demands, they are seeking an experienced Freelance General Ledger (GL) Accountant to join their team.Role OverviewAs a Freelance GL Accountant, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely execution of all general ledger activities. You will ensure compliance with Belgian GAAP and internal controls, while contributing to efficient month-end closings and reliable reporting. Working closely with the Finance Manager and controlling team, you will play a key role in strengthening the accounting framework and supporting business performance.Key ResponsibilitiesManage general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and intercompany postings.Oversee month-end and year-end closings in accordance with Belgian GAAP and group policies.Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies.Support statutory and tax reporting (VAT, corporate tax, audits).Assist in the preparation of financial statements and liaise with auditors.Contribute to process improvements and strengthen internal controls.Collaborate with controlling on cost allocations and manufacturing variances.Maintain data accuracy within the ERP system (SAP, Navision, Oracle, etc.).ProfileBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in general ledger or accounting roles, ideally within the manufacturing or industrial sector.Strong knowledge of Belgian GAAP; IFRS experience is an advantage.Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Navision, or equivalent) and Excel.Analytical, detail-oriented, and hands-on with strong problem-solving skills.Fluent in Dutch and English (French is a plus).Available on a freelance basis (independent consultant / interim accountant).What’s on OfferA freelance opportunity within a leading Belgian manufacturing company.Collaborative and dynamic work environment.Competitive daily rate based on experience.Hybrid working model with flexibility and autonomy.Interested?If you’re a freelance accountant with solid GL experience and are looking for your next challenge in the Antwerp area, we’d love to hear from you.📩 Please send your CV to adam.guess@vividresourcing.com for more information or a confidential discussion.
