Job Description

We are currently helping one of our key client to confidentially hire their Global Category Director role for one of their key product category global management. As a core strategic leader within the global category marketing leadership team, you will be responsible for the global business growth of key food categories. You will oversee the end-to-end development of the category, balance short-term performance achievement and long-term strategic layout, drive cross-functional collaboration, build the core competitiveness of the category, and achieve large-scale business growth.Key Job Responsibilities(I) Global Category Leadership & Growth ManagementLead the global growth of the category: Design and implement action plans that can directly drive business results. Meanwhile, promote organizational transformation and build a large-scale capability system to support future growth, such as establishing an innovative product pipeline and expanding into new markets.Define the strategic positioning and priorities of the category portfolio: Plan the core strategic roles and development focuses of the responsible product portfolio, coordinate cross-functional resources including marketing, supply chain, and R&D, maximize Return on Investment (ROI), and consolidate the category's market leadership position.(II) Data-Driven Strategy & PositioningDevelop category/product positioning and strategies based on data: Integrate consumer insights and market data to create category and product positioning that resonates in global markets. Translate strategies into actionable marketing campaigns, offline events, and promotional programs, ensuring the consistency of brand information while adapting to the differentiated needs of regional markets.(III) In-Depth Consumer Insight Mining & Opportunity ConversionIn-depth analysis of consumer needs: Conduct systematic and in-depth research on core consumer needs, consumption occasions, and purchase motivations. Through qualitative and quantitative analysis such as consumer interviews, sales data, and market research, extract and prioritize actionable business opportunities, such as developing new usage scenarios for products and optimizing existing products.Market trend and competition monitoring: Track global market trends and the dynamics of core competitors through data-driven business analysis (e.g., market share, price trends, and competitive product innovations). Identify market gaps and adjust strategies in a timely manner to maintain or enhance the category's competitive advantage.(IV) Cross-Functional Collaboration & InfluencePromote cross-market collaboration: Drive regional teams to reach a consensus, clarify common category goals, and ensure that the global strategy is not only in line with regional realities but also does not deviate from the overall growth priorities when implemented locally.Mobilize cross-functional stakeholders: Collaborate with key functional teams including brand, supply chain, legal, technical services (R&D, regulatory affairs, packaging development), and finance to accelerate the launch process of New Product Development (NPD), resolve cross-functional collaboration bottlenecks, and ensure the on-time delivery of high-impact marketing campaigns within the budget.Core Competency RequirementsStrategic Leadership: Ability to develop long-term visions, make breakthrough decisions, lead teams to respond to changes, and achieve high-target business growth.Cross-Functional Influence: Proven track record of coordinating stakeholders from different backgrounds (without direct management authority) to promote the implementation of complex projects such as new product development and global marketing campaigns.Consumer & Data Expertise: Proficient in conducting in-depth analysis of consumer behavior and market data, transforming insights into data-driven strategies, and achieving measurable business results through these strategies.Education & Experience RequirementsBachelor's degree or above in marketing, business administration, or related fields.At least 10 years of marketing experience in the food/Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry; candidates with regional or multi-market work experience are preferred.More than 5 years of team management experience, or experience in leading cross-functional teams (no formal title required).Candidates with category management experience in key markets are preferred, especially those familiar with the Greater China market.At least 6-8 years of multi-market/global business experience; candidates with solid experience in New Product Development (NPD), brand building, or food category management are preferred.Skill & Quality RequirementsExcellent strategic thinking and a proactive "CAN-DO attitude".Outstanding leadership and communication skills, good at influencing others and promoting collaboration.Strong analytical skills, able to accurately identify business opportunities and predict market dynamics.Effective communication and influence skills, including professional presentation and report writing skills.Good judgment, able to clarify the direction of category development in line with corporate goals.Team spirit, oriented towards promoting corporate goals and core values.Proficiency in Microsoft Office software such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Fluent in spoken and written Cantonese/Mandarin and English.
