The Learning & Skills Development Manager is a newly created role with autonomy to independently deliver objectives with support from experienced colleagues.Reporting to the Global Head of Human Resources, the Learning & Skills Development Manager will be responsible for the ongoing management and development of the Professional Learning & Skills Development capability across the Glanua Group, leading out on all areas. The Learning & Skills Development Manager will manage all related training programs and training requirement assessments and will work to define, establish, develop, and maintain processes, policies and procedures that will support the delivery of training services across the organisation.Main Duties and Responsibilities:Support the Global Head of Human Resources by acting as an advisor on all learning and training initiatives and programmes to help drive business performanceAccountable for overseeing the design, development and implementation of key learning initiatives aligned to strategic business objectives, ensuring collaboration with the HRBP’s and other relevant teams (incl. Health and Safety, etc.) at all stages from concept to roll outWork with key stakeholders internal and external to identify and meet long term training supports required in the professional and technical space for operational deliveryLead on the development of Apprentices and Graduates driving best in practice programmesAlign budget to garner best value for money from spend on learning initiatives, ensuring metrics are developed to underpin return on investment across all programmes and initiativesLead and champion the learning and skills development provision to increase the capabilities of our employeesPartner with colleagues and business stakeholders to customise, define, shape, and implement training strategies that meet current and future needs of employees and are strategic for the businessResponsible for managing the development, delivery, and outcome of an organisational training needs analysis for Glanua to understand requirements of core job-based training and to ensure alignment with business needs and the overall training strategyServe as the primary point of contact for identifying, gathering, and validating training requirements in conjunction with the business and propose new programmes that will have impact and be aligned to best practiceChampion best practice programs and work to enhance the reputation of Glanua as an employer of choiceUse appropriate tools and methodologies to carry out and administer end-to-end processes of the training cycle, including planning, design, development, delivery, coordination, and evaluationProvide visible leadership and promote collaboration to drive a results focused cultureWork with functional managers and relevant business team members around the development and maintenance of training curriculums for defined job roles, ensuring all legislated, regulated and compliance requirements are satisfiedCollaborate with the business to identify training needs which will inform an annual training calendar e.g. Municipal, Industrial, Support Functions etcManage relations with suppliers/partners in the development and procurement of training programmes that support the learning and development strategySource and manage vendors and service providers and monitor performance during delivery to ensure quality and optimum value for GlanuaDrive a continuous improvement mind-set within the learning and skills development function to identify and enable process excellence, proactively identifying and driving improvementsEngage in strategic planning and decision-making by adapting to changing circumstances as the business expands and moves forwardMaximise the effectiveness of training initiatives by keeping abreast of the latest training thinking, products, initiatives, and technologyConduct research on training methods and best practices to create learning & skills development programsBuild and maintain close and effective working relationship within the wider organisation along with relevant external providers and bodiesSome travel will be required to carry out the key responsibilities of this rolePerform Other Duties As Required From Time To TimeKnowledge, Skills and Experience:Third level qualification in Human Resources, Business Management, Organisational Development, Learning and Development or related area, is requiredA minimum of 10 plus years’ with at least 5 years operating in a Human Resources Management/ Learning and Skills role within a complex organisation is desiredExcellent people skills required, and a demonstrable ability to attract and develop a high performing employee’sYou will have significant leadership and change & transformation experience ideally in a similar utility, regulated industry or multi stakeholder environmentAble to work to deadlines and adapt to changing conditions and ambiguity generating effective and pragmatic solutions to new situations and problems as they are presentedCan quickly establish credibility and respect and build strong working relationshipsStakeholder Management and the ability to interact and influence effectively at all levels, both internally and externallyExcellent communicator with the capability to handle complex and difficult situations with thought and confidenceStrong negotiation skills with win/win mindsetFinancially and commercially astuteExperience of supporting policies, systems and controls and driving the implementation of progressive policiesProven experience in developing course content both for novices and experts along with facilitation and training deliveryStrong attention to detail, with excellent time management skills and a proven ability to multitask effectively across multiple strategic prioritiesDemonstrates proactivity by driving change in a structured and controlled way, and seeking out opportunities to continually evolve the Learning and Skills Development offering for GlanuaProven ability to create and develop appropriate learning strategies both for the immediate and longer term as well as the ability to think strategically when posed with day-to-day operational challengesVendor Management
