The Supply Chain Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of GoodLeaf’s supply chain operation nationally. Accountability for procurement, finished goods and raw material inventory management, picking/ packing, as well as distribution & logistics. The role will develop and implement strategies to optimize the flow of goods, ensuring efficiency, cost effectiveness, and compliance with regulations. A key area of focus is leading the processes for MRO (indirect) and Ingredients & packaging spend. The Supply Chain Director will develop and lead procurement strategies to improve commercial terms, pricing and security of supply. Role Responsibilities: Supply Chain Cost Control:
Develop and execute cost reduction strategies for the supply chain, focusing on logistics, procurement and inventory management. Analyze supply chain performance to identify areas of inefficiency and implement cost savings initiatives. Build strong supplier relationships to ensure security of supply, and negotiate strong contracts to achieve favorable pricing and terms to drive cost savings. Supply Chain Strategy and Optimization: Lead the development and implementation of the overall supply chain strategy, aligning it with the company’s business goals and objectives. Continuously evaluate and optimize supply chain processes to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
Make data-driven decisions to improve supply chain operations. Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing supply chain team, providing guidance on process improvements, technology adoption, and problem-solving. Foster a collaborative culture within the supply chain team, ensuring effective communication and alignment across functions. Provide training and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and performance. Collaboration with Cross Functional Teams: Work closely with other departments and farm locations to ensure alignment and smooth flow of information across the organization. Collaborate and support new product launches, trials, and new customer onboarding.
Compliance and Risk ManagementEnsure compliance with SQF, CIFA, and HACCP and best practices related to supply chain operations. Identify potential risks within the supply chain and develope contingency plans to mitigate disruptions. Monitor and manage supplier performance, ensuring they meet quality, delivery, and compliance requirements. Technology and System Management: Leverage technology (ERP system) to optimize processes and improve visibility across the supply chain. Facilitate the implementation of ERP activities and process development for the supply chain.
Follows and comply with all GoodLeaf Farms, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), Provincial and Company Health and Safety standards and Company Safe Quality Foods standards and guidelines. All other duties as assignedEducation and Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, Statistics, or related field. Proven experience as a Supply Chain Leader within the manufacturing industry, minimum 8 years. A focus on fresh food products is a definite asset. Proven planning, procurement, warehouse management and Inventory management experience. Demonstrated experience negotiating and experience managing supplier relationships. Excellent leadership, team management, and interpersonal skills.
Experience with supply chain software, ERP systems and data analytics tools. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and make data driven decisions. Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and precision in forecasting. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
