Straight-Line are currently hiring a Graduate/Trainee Mechanical Engineer within the pressure vessel industry.Are you the right candidate for this opportunity Make sure to read the full description below.As a Graduate / Trainee Mechanical Engineer, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers and gain hands-on experience across design, estimation, and project delivery. You’ll learn how to interpret technical specifications, develop design calculations, and support the manufacture of bespoke pressure vessels and related products.Key Responsibilities Assist with the design and calculation of pressure vessels and fabrications in accordance with ASME, PD5500, and EN13445 standards. Support the preparation of drawings, material specifications, and technical documentation. Work closely with the production, quality, and project management teams to ensure engineering accuracy and compliance. Participate in estimating and tendering activities to understand commercial aspects of engineering projects. Support inspection, testing, and quality control processes. Engage in continuous learning to develop technical and professional skills.Person Specification Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. Some experience or exposure to pressure vessels, fabrication, or heavy engineering (industrial placement, project work, or early career experience). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Good understanding of engineering principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to develop within a supportive team.
