Employment Type: Permanent Full TimePosition Classification: Health Manager Level 4Remuneration: $147,653 - $175,917 + 12.5% Super + Salary PackagingHours Per Week: 38Requisition ID: REQ619888Applications Close: Wednesday the 26th of NovemberLead Mental Health Services Across Greater NewcastleHunter New England Mental Health is seeking a committed and experienced Service Manager - Greater Newcastle & Intake to lead the delivery of high-quality community mental health services across the Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions.This pivotal leadership role oversees the Community Mental Health Teams and Intake Services, ensuring safe, efficient, and person-centred mental health care across the Local Health District.About The RoleThe Greater Newcastle Service Manager is responsible for the operational leadership, governance, and performance of community and intake services within the district. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based mental health care while maintaining compliance across safety, staffing, budget, quality, and data reporting requirements.You will work closely with the Mental Health Executive, operational leaders, professional discipline leads, and key external partners including NGOs, Primary Health Networks, councils, aged care providers, and community organisations.Key ResponsibilitiesIn this role, you will:Provide day-to-day operational leadership to Greater Newcastle Community Mental Health teams and Intake servicesBuild and maintain strong relationships with government and non-government partners to deliver integrated, accessible community servicesEnsure effective resource coordination across human, financial, and physical resources within budget and performance targetsLead a positive, collaborative, outcome-focused workplace culture across multiple locationsManage essential workforce functions including rostering, recruitment, induction, performance reviews, development, and performance managementEnsure service compliance with clinical governance, safety, work health and safety, and quality frameworksPromote behaviours aligned with the HNE Health Values Charter, NSW Health Code of Conduct, and Excellence FrameworkOversee quality and safety practices, identifying and managing risks within delegated authorityNavigate complex operational challenges while contributing to a culture of continuous improvementMonitoring clinical services and activity to effectively manage human, financial, and physical resourcesBuilding and maintaining a constructive, professional culture during times of changeWhy Join Us?This is an opportunity to make a real and lasting difference to mental health care across Greater Newcastle.
