We design and deploy next-generation systems that facilitate large energy users and utilities achieve their goals for reliability, sustainability, and operational efficiency.About the RoleUtilityInnovation Group (UIG) is seeking a Grid Monitoring Specialist to support our GridSure Command Center - a remote microgrid monitoring and dispatch center that supports utilities, data centers, and large energy users worldwide.Based at our global headquarters in Raleigh, NC, this role collaborates closely with Operations and Engineering teams to maintain and dispatch real-time grid operations, working in sync with our international team in Dublin, Ireland.Whether you’re an early-career engineer eager to grow or an experienced professional ready to apply your expertise, you’ll find opportunities to learn, innovate, and make real-world impact in a collaborative, engineering-focused environment. Role ResponsibilitiesMonitor and dispatch load management assets across UIG’s North American fleetCoordinate with customers during events and alarm conditionsSupport the integration of GridSure’s advanced control and analytics platformPerform real-time fault analysis and triage of power system operationsPrepare for and manage disaster response events impacting energy assetsSupport Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT) and verify system integrityAssist with programming, device configuration, and data integrationCollaborate with engineering teams to move equipment from concept to productionMaintain and improve overall Command Center operations and summarize performance dataCoordinate U.S. and EU asset management efforts with UIGI teams in Dublin Minimum Qualifications0-3 years of experience in electrical systems, system automation, or other relevant fieldsStrong analytical, communication, and organizational skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, IT systems, and toolsAbility to collaborate across teams and communicate technical concepts clearlyAvailability to work at the Raleigh HQ and travel up to 25% Preferred QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or related fieldExperience in automation systems or SCADA integrationFamiliarity with DEIF, Woodward, ComAp, or similar control platformsKnowledge of industrial automation system platforms Work EnvironmentPrimarily in-office at UIG’s Raleigh headquarters, with occasional travelOccasional after-hours support during operational events
