Role Overview:The E-commerce Group Head will be responsible for leading digital commerce strategy, media planning, and performance delivery for key clients. The role focuses on driving measurable business outcomes across e-retail and D2C platforms through a blend of data-driven strategy, channel integration, and commercial acumen. The incumbent will lead a team of specialists to optimize visibility, conversion, and ROI across marketplaces and digital commerce ecosystems.Key Responsibilities:Strategic & Business LeadershipLead e-commerce media strategy across marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, BigBasket, etc.) and brand D2C sites.Develop full-funnel strategies encompassing awareness, consideration, conversion, and retention.Partner with client marketing and category teams to align business goals with digital commerce objectives.Identify growth opportunities and design go-to-market plans leveraging data, media, and shopper insights.Client & Stakeholder ManagementServe as the senior strategic partner for client e-commerce mandates.Drive discussions on performance metrics, platform strategies, and business growth levers.Collaborate with internal teams (Media, Programmatic, Search, Social, Data, and Creative) to ensure integrated execution.Build strong relationships with key e-commerce platforms and media partners to secure advantages for clients.Operational & Team LeadershipManage and mentor a team of planners and performance specialists.Oversee campaign planning, optimization, and reporting processes to ensure high operational excellence.Implement structured frameworks for measurement, attribution, and data analytics.Ensure smooth execution of campaigns within timelines and budgets.Performance & AnalyticsAnalyze e-commerce data, media performance, and sales trends to provide actionable insights.Work closely with analytics and data science teams to build attribution models and optimize ROI.Champion test-and-learn strategies to scale winning approaches.Business DevelopmentSupport new business pitches with e-commerce strategy and planning expertise.Identify and develop innovative commerce media opportunities to drive incremental growth for existing clients.Key Skills & Competencies:Strong understanding of digital commerce ecosystems (marketplace media, retail media networks, and D2C).In-depth knowledge of performance media, paid search, programmatic, and data-driven marketing.Experience in managing e-commerce dashboards, product feeds, and marketplace analytics.Excellent stakeholder management, presentation, and negotiation skills.Ability to connect marketing investments with tangible business outcomes.Strong leadership and people management skills.Qualifications:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business, or related field.6-8 years of experience in digital marketing, with at least 3–4 years in e-commerce or performance-led roles.Prior experience managing large-scale e-commerce accounts within a media agency or marketplace environment.Proficiency with tools such as Amazon Advertising Console, Flipkart Ads, Criteo, Google Marketing Platform, GA4, and commerce analytics dashboards.
