In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for book keeping, technical accounting, period closures and audited financial statements. With proven experience in accounting you'll provide strategic financial insights while ensuring regulatory compliance.Key Responsibilities:Booking KeepingMaintain books of accountsEnsure accuracy and completeness of general ledger activitiesManage posting of financial transactions, manage internal customer query resolution and ensure equal distribution of workload across all General Ledger team membersManage monthly books closing exercisesManage intercompany balancesMaintain an efficient system of policies and procedures that impose an adequate level of control over bookkeeping and period closing activities and provide support for regulatory reportingMaintain integrity of the General Ledger reconciliations to appropriate sub-ledgers and supporting documents including month end reconciliation to the General LedgerTechnical AccountingCreate accounting papers to demonstrate the organization’s accounting positionsCreate lease models under IFRS 16Advice finance leadership on accounting impacts for various business strategiesFinancial StatementsCreate and review financial statements under relevant accounting standardsPeriodic consolidation of financial statements across group companiesLaise with external auditors for timely completion of auditsManagement ResponsibilitiesManage the GL team’s workload and assign priorities as neededDeliver clear and timely communication on all issues, both internal and externalLead the team to continuously improve performance and motivate team membersLead the team to achieve individual and GL team objectivesPerform other duties as assigned or requested that are in accordance with the responsibilities of a memberOthersRecommend chart of accountsMentor, Coach and lead the GL accountantDevelop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controlsTax assessmentsThe PersonDesired Qualifications:Qualified bachelor’s degree or professional diploma such CPA, CA, UKCAExperience in auditing8 -10 years of experience in accounting and financial statementsBig 4 experience is a must — either the candidate is currently in Big 4 or has spent their entire experience in Big 4 and only recently moved to corporateProficiency in creating financial statements under IFRSStrong operational and implementation knowledge on IFRSOther Capabilities:Excellent communication and interpersonal skillsStong target orientationOur promise to talentAt Property Finder, we believe talent thrives in an environment where you can be your best self.
