Find out more about working with us .Step Into Your Next ChapterIn the Gympie region, guidance circuits are developed across a wide geographic area including P-10, primary and small schools. Guidance Officers are required to travel between schools bringing their expertise and skills to service small and large school communities.Responsibilities IncludeAdvocate, provide counselling, psychoeducational assessment and individual student support, recommendations and advice to students, teachers and parents concerning educational, behavioural, career development, mental health and family issues.Work as part of a multidisciplinary team and facilitate effective working relationships and partnerships with parents, school personnel and external support agencies in order to provide a comprehensive support, case management and referral service that optimises students' access and engagement in educational programs.Provide a counselling and referral service to assist students in decision making about critical educational, personal, social, emotional and career development, and provide ongoing support during the implementation phase of their decision.Conduct activities such as student observation and psychoeducational assessment in order to determine the nature of student learning difficulties, disability, developmental levels or psychological and emotional status in order to make recommendations for educational adjustments and interventions.Please view the role description for a full list of responsibilities.Submit Your ApplicationAttach a brief resume including contact details for 2 referees (referees should have an understanding of your relevant work history)Attach a 2-page written statement in response to the attached role description.Attach a copy of your mandatory qualifications/registration outlined in the attached role description We welcome all applicants to share any support needed to ensure our recruitment process is inclusive.Applications remain current for 12 months from the closing date and may be considered for appointment to identical or similar vacancies within the Department.Applications from recruitment agencies will not be accepted.Occupational group Education & Training
