Quectel is global IoT technology developer and cellular module supplier of 5G, LTE, LTE-A, LPWA, Smart Module, C-V2X, GSM/GPRS, UMTS/HSPA(+) and GNSS modules. Due to business expansion on Serbian market in R&D Centre, Quectel is looking for motivated and proactive candidates to join our team in Belgrade.We are looking for: Hardware Field Application EngineerKey Responsibilities:Independently handle complex hardware investigations — from power issues to high-speed signal problems — using advanced lab techniques and analytical tools.Perform detailed schematic and PCB layout reviews, focusing on power design, signal integrity, EMI/EMC, and overall design robustness. Identify risks and guide customers toward optimal solutions.Provide guidance and training to junior and mid-level FAEs. Share best practices, review their work, and assist in developing their technical and customer-facing skills.Handle escalated or complex issues involving hardware, firmware, or system-level integration. Reproduce problems in the lab, identify root causes, and coordinate with R&D to deliver timely solutions.Able to provide on-site support, including onsite issue-solving and organizing communication with internal and external departments.Prepare and deliver product demonstrations, technical presentations, and training sessions for customers, distributors, or internal staff.Create and maintain application notes, test reports, and support documentation. Track and report field issues, trends, and customer feedback.Support and guide junior FAEs, helping them develop both technical and communication skills. Share lessons learned and contribute to team knowledge bases.Partner closely with the sales, product management, and engineering teams to support customer projects and communicate market needs.Partner with the sales team to identify suitable products and technologies based on customer requirements. Deliver technical presentations, demonstrations, and proof-of-concept setupsOther tasks as required by the chain of reporting and business needs based on the similar task level.Job Requirements:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a related field.5+ years of experience in hardware design, validation, or field application engineering.Proven track record of leading customer-facing technical projects.Deep understanding of embedded systems, hardware design, and communication interfaces (e.g., UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, USB).Strong debugging and problem-solving experience across hardware and firmware layers.Strong experience in PCB layout review, signal integrity, and EMI/EMC analysis.Strong knowledge of power management, high-speed interfaces, and embedded systems hardware.Experience with RF, mixed-signal, or sensor designs is a plus.Lead the allocation of resources and promote the overall progress of problem-solving.Ability to conduct root-cause analysis and develop robust, field-tested solutions.Understanding of system validation, EMC considerations, and production-level testing.Fluent in English.What do we have to offer you?International environment and unique culture: we communicate openly with each other, assess ourselves honestly and enjoy working in a team.Foster “on the job” learning: we invest in the development of our employees.
