Form Ghana Limited seeks a proactive and dynamic Harvesting Forester for our Harvesting Department.Job Title: Harvesting ForesterJob Grade: C3Job Type: Full TimeJob Location: Berekum, Bono Region, GhanaEligibilityMinimum BSc. Forestry/Natural Resources Management.At least 5 years of working experience in timber harvesting operations.Must have a National Service Certificate.Must have a valid driver’s license, Class A.Ability to ride a motorbike to places assigned for duties.Key CompetenciesGood knowledge of FSC requirements.Ability to assess situations and be decisive.Be innovative and pay attention to detail.Have integrity and a passion for work, excellence and success.Strong leadership and management skills.Excellent interpersonal and organisational skills.Be accountable, able to work under pressure, and meet deadlines.Must have knowledge of health and safety in harvesting operations.Focused on achieving results, both as a leader and a team player.Proficiency in computer literacy (MS Office Suite)Job ResponsibilitiesThe Harvesting Forester is responsible for implementing and achieving the objectives and targets of all harvesting operations safely and efficiently.The specific roles and responsibilities include but are not limited to:Develop Operational Harvesting Plans (OHP) including hazard identification and risk assessments to meet safety, productivity, environmental, social and quality standards.Develop harvesting schedules and /or phasing to proactively identify blocks/ compartments to be harvested.Identify all factors in the block/compartment that are likely to affect safe and efficient harvesting operations, propose and implement mitigation measures.Diligently ensure harvesting operations are carried out according to plan.Conduct continuous monitoring of the harvesting operations to ensure adherence to safety and FSC requirements.Ensure that the harvesting team is informed about harvesting plans and operations.Ensure that production targets are achieved effectively and efficiently.Ensure that harvesting machines (skidders, tractors, loggers, chainsaws, etc.) are maintained and managed effectively and efficiently to enhance mechanical uptime and productivity.Do spot checks to ensure production figures and reports submitted by the harvesting supervisors are accurate.Conduct checks after harvesting and ensure harvested blocks and compartments are systematically closed without any non-compliance.Mobilise, manage, motivate, and discipline workers according to company policies and procedures.Respond to essential information among harvesting team members.Diligently and accurately submit reports to the Harvesting and Technical Manager as per below:Weekly reports on production and monitoring of targets versus actual, safety compliance and quality of the operation.
