With the target of 50 GW renewable energy capacity by 2030, AGEL is driving India on its renewable energy journey.Job Purpose: Head - Engineering is responsible for overseeing all engineering disciplines within the organization. This includes civil, electrical, mechanical, and C&I engineering teams. The role focuses on ensuring the timely and efficient design, development, and execution of engineering solutions that support the organization’s green energy projects while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.ResponsibilitiesStrategies Development:Provide visionary leadership to all engineering disciplines, setting strategic goals and ensuring their alignment with the organization’s mission to advance green energy initiatives.Drive innovation by fostering a culture of continuous improvement, challenging conventional methodologies, and encouraging the adoption of cutting-edge engineering solutions.Establish long-term plans for engineering capabilities, ensuring the organization remains at the forefront of technology and sustainability practices in the renewable energy sector.Cross-Disciplinary CoordinationOversee the integration and collaboration of civil, electrical, mechanical, and C&I engineering teams to deliver cohesive and efficient project execution.Facilitate open communication between disciplines to resolve technical challenges, align on project priorities, and optimize resource utilization across teams.Develop and implement processes to ensure smooth coordination between engineering functions, maintaining a unified approach to project delivery.Collaborate with the Business Development (BD) team to provide optimized technical solutions for renewable energy projects.Project Oversight And ExecutionLead the planning, execution, and monitoring of all engineering projects, ensuring they meet established timelines, budgets, and quality expectations.Track project milestones and deliverables, identifying potential bottlenecks or risks and implementing corrective measures to maintain momentum.Provide executive-level oversight for complex projects, offering technical guidance and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives.Regulatory Compliance And Quality ControlEnsure all engineering operations adhere to national and international safety, environmental, and quality standards, as well as emerging industry regulations.Establish robust quality control frameworks, including regular audits, inspections, and reviews, to ensure engineering outputs consistently meet or exceed organizational benchmarks.Stay informed on regulatory developments, proactively updating organizational practices to maintain compliance and mitigate risks.Financial And Resource ManagementDirect the preparation of detailed project budgets, aligning resource allocation with project priorities and organizational goals.Monitor financial performance across engineering projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and identifying cost-saving opportunities.Optimize the use of manpower, materials, and technology to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and maximize return on investment for engineering activities.Team Leadership And DevelopmentLead, mentor, and inspire engineering teams, providing guidance and opportunities for professional growth that align with both individual career paths and organizational objectives.Implement performance management frameworks, setting clear expectations, conducting evaluations, and recognizing outstanding contributions.Build a collaborative and innovative work environment, promoting cross-functional teamwork and knowledge sharing among engineering disciplines.Risk Assessment And MitigationConduct comprehensive risk analyses for engineering projects, identifying potential challenges related to safety, timelines, budget, and technical complexities.Develop and implement proactive risk management strategies, including contingency planning and scenario-based approaches, to mitigate risks effectively.Regularly review and update risk management practices to adapt to evolving project requirements and industry trends.Technology And Digital EnablementLeverage ERP systems and engineering software to streamline processes and improve decision-making.Utilize advanced MS Office tools, including Excel, for data analysis, modeling, and reporting.Promote the adoption of engineering automation tools and software to enhance design efficiency.Key Stakeholders - InternalProject Management TeamsDesign and Structural Engineering TeamsOperations and Maintenance DepartmentsProcurement and Finance DepartmentsKey Stakeholders - ExternalContractors and SubcontractorsRegulatory Authorities and Compliance AgenciesDesign Consultants and Geotechnical ExpertsCommunity StakeholdersQualificationsEducational Qualification:Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, or related field).Work Experience25+ years in engineering, with 5+ years in a leadership role within the renewable energy or infrastructure sectors. Proven expertise in managing cross-disciplinary teams and large-scale projects.
