Job Description

The Head of Manufacturing leads the Food Manufacturing Department (FMD) in Food Services. The role is responsible for managing all manufacturing operations, including the production of bakery products, ready-to-heat meals, sauces and pastes, marinated meats, and desserts.About the RoleThis role drives strategic process improvements through new and revised SOPs, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety with a goal of zero production recalls. Key responsibilities also include fostering innovation through new product development and building a high-performing team by developing talent and capabilities. This position directly supports the expansion of business-to-business (B2B) channels, supplying both institutional and retail customers.ResponsibilitiesFinancial & P&L Management: Take responsibility for overall manufacturing costs through close engagement with the Procurement department and execution of cost-saving initiatives across raw materials, labor, and logistics.Analyze financial variances and projections to ensure the department meets its annual financial goals.Operations & Process Improvement: Lead and manage efficient operations through effective production planning, optimizing production capacity, and monitoring key results.Implement a system of continuous improvement by adopting lean strategies, performing time and motion studies, and recommending new processes to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency.Manage production planning, scheduling, and logistics to ensure continuous and error-free supply to customers.Food Safety & Quality Assurance: Lead teams to excel in quality assurance, ensuring products are produced in accordance with established SOPs and Bill of Materials (BOM) in the SAP system.Uphold the highest standards of food safety with a primary goal of zero production recalls.Collaborate with HSE to execute and maintain quality assurance and food safety standards compliant with ISO, food regulatory authorities, and OEM standards.Stakeholder & Customer Management: Build strong partnerships with key internal stakeholders, including Operations, Culinary, and Business Development teams, to ensure alignment between production capabilities and business needs.Serve as a strategic partner to customers by anticipating operational challenges, providing timely solutions, and supporting business continuity.Champion a customer-centric culture within FMD, driving service excellence, responsiveness, and continuous improvement through structured feedback and collaboration.Team Leadership & Talent Development: Lead, coach, and motivate the FMD team, including production, planning and administration staff.Develop and promote an effective working relationship with other departments, establishing proactive communication links with internal and external customers.Build and lead a high-performing operations team by cultivating a culture of learning, feedback, and resilience. Coach team members to adopt a growth mindset, pursue development opportunities, and take ownership of their growth and performance. QualificationsProven experience in a manufacturing leadership role, preferably within the food industry.Excellent knowledge of retort and ready-to-heat product productions.Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, scheduling, and logistics.Demonstrated experience managing a P&L and driving cost-saving initiatives.Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to lead, develop, and inspire a diverse team.
