DescriptionThe Head of Accounts is a crucial leadership position responsible for ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of the company's financial records. In this role, you will oversee all daily accounting functions, including financial statement preparation and regulatory compliance, to support strategic planning and decision-making by the Head of Finance.ResponsibilitiesOversee the preparation and timely completion of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Consolidated & Standalone) as per specified accounting standards (e.g., IFRS, GAAP).Ensure accurate computation, filing, and timely payment of all applicable taxes (corporate, sales/VAT, payroll).Lead the annual external audit process, acting as the primary contact for auditors and managing all documentation and reconciliations.Maintain a complete and accurate general ledger, managing journal entries, reconciliations, and the chart of accounts.Direct daily accounting operations, including Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), fixed assets, inventory valuation, and payroll.Implement and enforce strong internal controls across accounting processes to protect company assets.Oversee cash management and bank reconciliation to ensure accurate cash balances.Identify and implement process improvements in the accounting workflow to enhance efficiency and reduce closing cycles.Lead and manage the accounting team, promoting a culture of accuracy, compliance, and improvement.Conduct performance reviews, provide coaching, and identify training needs for team members.Work closely with the Head of Finance to provide essential financial data for budgeting, forecasting, and strategic financial analysis (FP&A).Collaborate with cross-functional department heads to understand financial needs and ensure adherence to accounting policies.RequirementsBachelor’s or Master's degree in Accounting or related field.Professional accounting certification/finalist status required (e.g., CPA, CA, ACCA).Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in accounting with at least 3-5 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.In-depth knowledge of applicable accounting standards and corporate tax regulations.Proven ability in managing and optimizing ERP/Accounting software.Experience in leading and successfully completing external audits.Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.Strong understanding of internal controls and risk management.Excellent leadership and team-building skills.High proficiency with financial reporting tools and Excel.Ability to clearly communicate complex accounting issues to both finance and non-finance team members.Education RequirementsMasters DegreeCertification RequirementsCPACAACCA
