Head of Americas Origination

The Export and Investment Fund of Denmark (EIFO), is looking for a new Head of Americas Origination. This pivotal role focuses on enabling Danish companies’ global succes by originating high-impact transactions, designing innovative financial solutions, and driving significant deal flow.About the PositionYou will be focused on originating deals and designing financial solutions for companies and projects in North and South America. You will play a key role in financing major infrastructure projects, including data centers, initiatives focused on energy efficiency, defence and security, renewable energy, and other efforts to support Danish exports opportunities abroad.As Head of Americas Origination, you will work closely with EIFO’s clients, exporters and internal stakeholders. Your work will support Danish businesses in navigating international markets.The position will be based in the NAFTA region and involves travel across the continent. You will report directly to the Head of Origination in Copenhagen and should be prepared for a dynamic role that requires flexibility and a strong client focus. While the position is based in the NAFTA region, your specific work location and contractual arrangements will be aligned with your background and discussed during the recruitment process.Key Responsibilities:Client Engagement and Deal Origination: High-level client relationships and origination efforts. Participate in designing complex transactions, lead strategic pitch development, and opportunity identification.Strategic Analysis: Provide deep, data-driven insights into client needs, sector dynamics and macroeconomics trends. Translate analysis into actionable origination strategies and bespoke financial solutions.Team Collaboration: Partner with other Origination teams and the Transactions team to ensure seamless handovers and effective execution of deals. Drive internal alignment and cross-functional communication.Market Knowledge: Maintain expert-level knowledge of industry drivers, regulatory frameworks, and emerging trends. Identify and assess new market opportunities and develop innovative structures aligned with EIFO’s strategic objectives.Leadership and Representation: Represent EIFO at senior-level client meetings, industry forums, and internal governance bodies. Act as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and external partners, including credit committees and strategic relationships.Your profileWe are seeking an analytically strong professional with a strategic mindset and a proven track record of driving complex initiatives and client engagements. You know how to win deals. You bring substantial experience and are ready to take on a leadership role where you can make a meaningful impact in a dynamic and evolving environment.We imagine that you have:A relevant academic degree, such as MBA, MPA, MPP, or other relevant academic background.+10 years of experience in structured finance, including project and balance sheet financing.Proven ability to lead complex client relationships and originate transactions.Strong proficiency in financial analysis and preparation of pitch and presentations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders.A proactive and collaborative mindset, combined with curiosity and attention to detail.Excellent English communication skills, both spoken and written.
