Job Summary:The Head of Corporate Legal will be responsible for overseeing all legal matters across the company and its subsidiaries. This role requires strategic legal guidance, risk management, compliance oversight, and contract negotiation. The ideal candidate will ensure legal compliance, mitigate risks, and support business objectives by providing sound legal advice to senior management and stakeholders.Key Responsibilities:Develop and implement legal strategies aligned with the company’s business objectives.Provide legal counsel to the President, Board of Directors, and executive management on corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and business risks.Oversee corporate and commercial legal matters, including contract drafting, review, and negotiations.Ensure compliance with local, national, and international laws affecting the company’s operations.Manage relationships with external legal counsel and oversee litigation matters.Supervise and lead the legal team, ensuring effective legal support across all subsidiaries.Identify and mitigate legal risks associated with business operations and transactions.Develop internal legal policies, frameworks, and compliance programs.Stay updated on regulatory and legislative developments relevant to the company’s industry.Handle mergers, acquisitions, and joint ventures, providing due diligence and transaction support.Ensure intellectual property protection, including trademarks, copyrights, and patents.Represent the company in legal proceedings, arbitration, and negotiations as required.Qualifications and Experience:Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) is required; Master’s degree (LLM) or equivalent is preferred.Minimum of 20 years of experience in corporate legal practice, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.Strong knowledge of corporate law, regulatory compliance, commercial contracts, and dispute resolution.Experience in managing legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, and governance.Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and provide strategic legal solutions.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.Experience working in a holding company or multinational corporation is preferred.Key Competencies:Strong ethical standards and professional integrity.Excellent communication with local and international with interpersonal skills.Ability to lead and mentor legal teams effectively.Business acumen with a strategic mindset.High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priority
