Head of Design

We are partnering with a leading interior design and fit-out company who are specialists in delivering high-spec residential and workplace projects across the UAE. The company has become a go-to one-stop provider from concept and technical design to procurement, build, and handover. They are recognised for their rigorous standards, innovative delivery, and end-to-end project care and are renowned for delivering projects for a range of clients, including the royal family.They are searching for a Head of Design to lead the design team through all phases of projects including understanding client needs, conceptual and schematic design, design development, and create high quality design while maximizing department profits.ResponsibilitiesProvide highly professional customer services to all clients by direct and continuous contact and site visits to ensureall the projects information/requirements are captured for the desired designEnsure client satisfaction by building trust and confidence to enhance good relationships Ensure custom made furniture & joinery products are as per clients` request including : quality, material &timely delivery Ensure appropriate coordination with all Departments Heads for Budgets, forecasts and plans for the Design Department are metLiaise with Head of Contracts & Estimation that appropriate budgets, forecasts and plans for the Design Department are met. Liaise with Group departments for all matters related to area of responsibility Coordinate with the Head of Projects and other concerned entities in ensuring smooth running of all projects as necessaryDirect and supervise the activities of multi-discipline personnel Performs supervisory/man management functions and assumes financial authority as per company`s guidelines Furnish necessary technical advice on all aspects of the design e.g. detailing, drafting, visualizing and FF&E Plan, organize and controls the work of the Design team to ensure compliance with agreed targets and projects plansLiaise with GM and Head of Contracts & Estimation that appropriate budgets, forecasts and plans for the Design Department are met.Develop and foster, in coordination with GM, high level clientele’s relationshipPrepare reports about project updates to the General Manager and review reports prepared by design team. Formulates short/long term plans for the Design Department Keep GM abreast with projects and markets developments Performs other related duties as assigned by GM QualificationsExperience in interior design/build, fit-out, or construction.Bachelor degree in Interior DesignAt least 15 years of experience of which 7 years must be in similar responsibilities.Ability to communicate effectively with clients, staff, and external parties.Possess a thorough knowledge of interior design and FF&E procedures and processes as well as internal quality assurance processes.Knowledge in 3D design and color adaptability and accuracy when attending to detail.Creativity and imagination.
