Our client is a Global Consumer Electronics brand and they're looking for a Head of E-commerce Japan role to lead their e-commerce strategy in Japan. Reporting directly to the Japan General Manager, this pivotal role will drive aggressive growth, optimize our online presence, and lead a high-performing team to achieve exceptional results across major e-commerce platforms. Ideal candidates would have a proven track record in the 3C or FMCG industries and expertise in Amazon platform strategies.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive e-commerce strategy to achieve ambitious growth targets, identify new market opportunities, and expand our digital footprint in Japan.Account Management & Sales: Formulate and implement online account strategies and growth plans to maximize profitability and sell-out across major e-commerce platforms, including Amazon.Business Performance: Oversee the execution of the e-commerce strategy, deliver accurate revenue forecasts and reports, and consistently meet financial growth targets.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Align with global and regional strategies, collaborate with supply chain teams for demand forecasting, and partner with marketing teams and external agencies to optimize shopper conversion through data-driven insights.Market Optimization: Analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and implement best practices in digital reseller marketing to enhance online performance and presence.Team Leadership: Inspire and guide a high-performing team, fostering a collaborative and results-oriented environment.QualificationsRequired Experience10+ years of proven experience in digital sales and marketing, with a strong focus on online sales.5+ years of team management experience, leading teams to achieve business objectives.Extensive knowledge of the e-commerce reseller and marketplace industry, particularly in the 3C or FMCG sectors, with specific experience managing sales on the Amazon platform.Demonstrated success collaborating with marketing teams to drive traffic and revenue goals.Experience working in international, cross-functional organizations.Business-level proficiency in Japanese and English.Required Technical SkillsIn-depth understanding of e-commerce sales, digital marketing trends, and best practices, including Amazon platform strategies and tools (e.g., Seller Central, Amazon Advertising).Proficiency in data-driven digital marketing programs and analytics.Strong ability to manage and collaborate with marketing agency partners.Exceptional communication skills to engage with local Japan teams and global cross-functional teams (e.g., marketplace, direct sales, supply chain, finance).Required CompetenciesStrong sales acumen with a proven track record of meeting quarterly revenue targets.Exceptional leadership skills to align and motivate teams toward shared goals.Highly analytical, with the ability to interpret data and optimize strategic plans.Strong business acumen with a hands-on approach to managing operations.High accountability, integrity, and a proactive, self-starting mindset.Proven business management skills, including P&L responsibility and expertise in channel margins, rebates, and campaigns.Superior influencing skills, including active listening, negotiation, and closing.Collaborative, communicative, and adept at problem-solving and adapting to evolving business trends.
