Job PurposeThe Head of Emirati Segment is responsible for leading, developing, and executing the strategic vision for the Emirati banking segment. This role ensures the achievement of financial targets, drives business growth, and enhances customer experience for Emirati clients. The Head of Emirati Segment fosters strong community engagement, builds a high-performing team, and ensures full compliance with regulatory and internal governance standards. By championing innovative solutions and targeted initiatives, the role positions the bank as the preferred financial partner for Emiratis and strengthens its brand presence within the community.Key result AreasDevelop and manage the UAE National Segment Proposition, including product offerings, pricing, and bundling strategies.Lead the design and execution of customer acquisition plans, onboarding strategies, and segment-specific sales campaigns.Set and monitor sales targets across sub-segments (e.g., government employees, private sector, self-employed, real estate owners).Drive sales performance through regional managers and acquisition teams.Develop and optimize the delivery and distribution model in collaboration with Distribution and Channel partners.Manage the Emirati Segment’s P&L and allocate budgets for product development, channel optimization, and business growth initiatives.Design and implement customer engagement, retention, and loyalty initiatives based on insights from analytics, frontline feedback, and market research.Regularly visit branches and sales teams to gather feedback and ensure alignment of the value proposition with customer needs.Collaborate with Product Heads and Segment Leaders to ensure tailored product offerings for Emirati clients, including liabilities, assets, mortgages, investments, and insurance.Ensure feedback from channels and frontline teams is incorporated into product and proposition development.Ensure full compliance with regulatory requirements and internal governance standards, particularly those related to Emiratization and national workforce development.Track segment performance using KPIs, customer feedback, and market analysis. Take corrective actions to optimize growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction.Operating environment, framework & boundaries, working relationship.Operates within the bank’s strategic and governance framework, ensuring full alignment with risk, compliance, audit, and regulatory standards.Maintains a strong focus on Emiratization and national workforce development, ensuring all initiatives support the bank’s broader inclusion and localization goals.Works across multiple business lines and support functions to ensure the Emirati Segment proposition is integrated, scalable, and compliant.Maintains awareness of market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory changes impacting the Emirati customer base, adapting strategies accordingly.Partners with Banking Products, Business Banking, Mortgages, and Distribution teams to develop tailored product offerings and delivery models for Emirati clients.Coordinates with all channel owners (Branches, Direct Sales, Digital, etc.) to align proposition strategy and ensure consistent customer experience.Collaborates with Marketing and Customer Experience teams to design and execute segment-specific campaigns and engagement programs.Engages with Corporate Bank to build propositions targeting UAE Government departments and large corporates, based on market potential.Works with IT, Operations, Risk Management, and Project Management teams to drive process improvements and operational enhancements.Ensures strict adherence to compliance programs and internal governance policies relevant to the segment.Builds strong relationships with internal stakeholders (Product, Digital, Operations, Compliance, HR) and external partners (government entities, community organizations).Represents the Emirati Segment in senior management forums and cross-functional committees to influence strategic direction and decision-making.Problem solving and decision making.Address complex customer needs and complaints, balancing commercial objectives with regulatory and reputational considerations.Make data-driven decisions to optimize segment performance, leveraging analytics and market intelligence.Resolve conflicts between segment priorities and broader organizational goals through negotiation and influence.Lead crisis management and business continuity planning for the Emirati Segment.Knowledge, Skills and ExperienceMinimum 15 years of experience in banking and financial services, with a strong track record in customer segment management and product development.Superior understanding of general banking customer requirements, with a focus on UAE Nationals across government, private sector, self-employed, and high-net-worth segments.Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive customer-centric strategies across product, distribution, and marketing functions.Strong profit orientation with demonstrated success in managing segment P&L and delivering sustainable growth.Deep knowledge of the UAE banking landscape, Emirati customer preferences, and regulatory environment, including Emiratization initiatives.Experience in segment strategy formulation, customer journey mapping, and digital transformation within retail or priority banking.Excellent analytical, strategic planning, and project management capabilities.Effective stakeholder management and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership and collaborate across departments.Fluency in Arabic and English is essential; familiarity with local culture and government programs is highly desirable.Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop high-performing teams.
