Head of Engineering

We are looking for a Head of Engineering who cares deeply about building exceptional products that users love. This role goes beyond managing teams and systems: you will champion engineering practices that result in fast, intuitive, reliable, and delightful user experiences.You will lead multiple engineering teams, ensuring that our technology choices, architecture, execution, and processes all serve one overarching purpose: delivering our roadmap predictably, raising the bar on engineering quality, and building systems that scale with the business.What you'll do:Champion the predictable, high-quality delivery of the product and engineering roadmapPartner closely with Product to ensure alignment, clarity, and a shared obsession for delivering great user experiencesRaise the bar on engineering quality by driving strong coding standards, testing rigor, architectural clarity, and operational excellenceEnsure our systems, services, and architecture can scale with the company's growthLead and participate in incident response, ensuring issues are quickly identified, mitigated, and resolved, while contributing to post-incident analysis and improvementsManage and develop the engineering team, ensuring they are performing well, aligned, and supportedDrive continuous improvement through data-driven insights, metrics, retrospectives, and a strong culture of accountabilityFoster a culture of ownership, excellence, and collaboration across teams and functionsRequirementsMust have skills & experience10+ years in software engineering, with at least 3+ years leading managers or multi-team engineering orgsDemonstrated success delivering complex product roadmaps in fast-paced environmentsStrong technical foundation in modern software engineering—architecture, distributed systems, APIs, cloud infrastructure, performance, and reliabilityExperience building scalable, maintainable systems for real-world, high-traffic user scenariosDeep familiarity with engineering quality practices: automated testing, CI/CD, observability, incident management, code quality standardsExcellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills, especially with Product, Design, and OperationsA track record of elevating engineering teams, improving processes, and building high-performing culturesTraits exhibitedExecution-focused: Reliable in delivering what was committed, and expects teams to do the sameQuality-driven: Obsessed with correctness, performance, reliability, and engineering craftsmanshipSystems thinker: Anticipates bottlenecks, simplifies complexity, and designs for scaleStrong communicator: Brings clarity, alignment, and direction across teamsBuilder mentality: Balances long-term thinking with shipping value quicklyHigh-standards leader: Doesn't tolerate mediocrity—pushes for excellence without burning teams outCalm under pressure: Handles incidents, escalations, and ambiguity with composure and decisiveness
