Job description:Role SummaryWe are seeking an experienced and visionary Head of Engineering to lead GFT Vietnam’s technology and engineering capabilities. This individual will oversee our nearshore software engineering operations, ensuring excellence in technical delivery, talent development, and global collaboration.As the Head of Engineering, you will play a dual role: leading high-performance engineering teams across domains such as digital banking, blockchain, and cloud-native development, while also supporting strategic delivery initiatives as part of our International Delivery Unit (IDU). You will partner with GFT’s global leaders, including project, staffing, mentoring, and quality functions, to deliver high-impact client solutions. Engineering Leadership Lead, scale, and mentor software engineering teams in Vietnam across diverse technology stacks Promote a strong engineering culture focused on innovation, delivery excellence, and agile best practices Establish and grow local technology centres of excellence in transformation areas like cloud, blockchain, and AI Drive continuous improvement in engineering productivity, tooling, and quality assurance  Strategic Delivery & IDU Coordination Provide oversight and capacity planning in collaboration with Professional Services Units (PSUs) and Country Units (CUs) Support presales initiatives by advising on technical solutions, delivery models, and team composition Represent engineering and IDU resource needs in local talent planning, mentoring, and skills development Partner with HR, IT, and legal teams in Vietnam to ensure a high-performing and compliant working environment  Risk & Quality Collaborate with Risk & Quality teams to proactively manage and escalate supply, demand and operational risks or non-compliance concerning delivery Ensure staffing needs meet all defined quality standards and compliance frameworks across global client engagements  Collaboration & Global Influence Work closely with European and APAC stakeholders to align engineering practices, delivery models, and resource mobilisation Assist business development teams in shaping technology proposals, solution architecture, and rate card structures  Required Skills 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles Demonstrated ability to build and lead engineering teams in international delivery contexts Strong understanding of agile development frameworks and engineering management best practices Industry experience in financial services or fintech is advantageous Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills Fluent in English and Vietnamese, in addition Mandarin is a plus  What We OfferBe part of a fast-growing and innovative team working on cutting-edge technology projects.
