Head of Finance

Due to succession planning we are looking for a qualified and experienced finance leader to step into the role of Head of Finance with a financial services company. This position offers the chance to play a pivotal role in shaping financial strategy, driving performance, and ensuring excellence across all areas of financial management.£85,000-£100,000 + bonus to 25%, BUPA, 30 days hol + stats. 3 days WFHThe OpportunityThe Head of Finance will take full ownership of financial operations across multiple entities, covering financial accounting, management reporting, FP&A, regulatory reporting, risk management support, treasury, and systems oversight. Acting as a key business partner to senior stakeholders, the role is central to maintaining financial integrity and supporting strategic decision-making at the highest level.Key ResponsibilitiesLead all aspects of financial and management reporting, ensuring compliance, accuracy, and timely delivery.Oversee annual budgeting, forecasting, and performance analysis to support commercial and strategic goals.Manage accounting, treasury, tax, and working capital functions.Oversee regulatory submissions (including FCA) and internal/external audits.Partner with executive leaders to drive financial insight, efficiency, and value creation.Support governance, risk management, and consumer duty responsibilities.Lead, develop, and inspire a high-performing finance team.About YouProfessionally qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent); Fellow/Associate Chartered Accountant preferred.5+ years’ post-qualification experience with strong leadership in a senior finance capacity.Proven experience within the insurance or insurance broking sector would be a distinct advantage.Broad experience across financial reporting, FP&A, control, and compliance.Skilled in data analysis, financial modelling, and advanced Excel.Strong stakeholder management skills and a proven ability to drive change and process improvement.What’s on OfferHybrid working model (3 days working from home)Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits packageOpportunity to influence financial strategy and contribute to business growthExposure to senior leadership and board-level stakeholdersSupportive, collaborative environment focused on professional developmentThis is an outstanding opportunity for a strategic and commercially minded finance professional looking to make a significant impact in a complex and fast-moving organisation — particularly well-suited to those from an insurance or insurance brokerage background.IPS Finance has 45 years experience in the Yorkshire accountancy recruitment market.
